  • Wall Squat time

how long can you wall squat for?

if you dunno what one is, then it's sitting against a wall with your legs bent at just a bit more than 90 degrees, as if you were sitting down, but not using any support...it may not sound hard but it kills the legs.

Just started trying this exercise, got 25 seconds last week, 34 this week.

No, no, no, I do get it. Strengthening your legs, right?
    Sounds real exciting.

Whyncha do this when you go to the toilet and kill 2 birds with one stone?

They got this new invention they just came out with in weight training called power squats. You might want to try it.

can you repost in English? I know how to squat, but I didn't mention normal squats. What would be the point in asking how much weight someone could squat when there's already a thread on max lifts with people posting it there.
This exercise is more a test of leg strength/endurance. What's your problem with doing it?

just seems like a waste of time and I'm normally more pragmatic - endurance for what? taking a dump over a dirty toilet? I can see using an exercise to strengthen muscles which come into play when youre actually doing something - like climbing up a hill or throwing a "capt. kirk" and doing the exercises that bring you the most dramatic results in the quickest time frame.

The horse stance is a useless oriental invention which just wastes your time and makes you look stoopid

Right. I'm not sure if you're reading the same thread. I never said do it as an exercise. I never said it was paticularly beneficial. I didn't mention a horse stance.

Take the other thread about people's 1RM. Would it do you any good to just do a 1RM of each exercise and nothing else? Course it wouldn't, you'd just hurt yourself. But that isn't the point of the thread.

If you really can't get your head around this thread, I'll explain it as simply as I can, just for you . I'm interested in how long people can stay in the position for, as a test of leg strength/endurance. So people can compare against each other.

If you have a problem with that, or have weak legs and only got 3.4 seconds, why not just not post, and read the next thread?
