Right above the top of my foot where the foot and shin join.

Thursday was the second day I've skipped rope in months, if not a year.

I was 240 on a 5'8" frame just two months ago. My Doctor put me on a low carb diet and now I'm at roughly 212. I've been doing some cardio, but I can't stand doing it. I do enjoy skipping rope, so I've decided to take it up. It was great to hear that you burn a whole bunch of calories with Skipping Rope and you get a great exercise.

My goal is to get under 200 before August.

I think I'm going to try to skip rope EVERY day once this pain subsides a little bit. I'm going to take the weekend off and then I'll go from there.

Thanks for answering my questions, my friend.

Thats either your Tibialis anterior or your Extensor digitorum longus. There are exercises you can do to strenthen them, but you best bet is to do what you are doing and give them a couple of days rest and work them again.

I wouldn't suggest jumping everyday at first. Three days a week for the first couple of weeks and build from there. They are very small and senisitive muscles and it is very easy to over work them, as you have found out.

The main thing for burning calories is to stay active during your session. Do the active rest and other things that will keep your heart rate up. For instance, I jump ten minute then do 25 push up, 25 sit ups, 25 squats then right back to jumping without a rest. I do this three or four time, four times a week. I find that it gives my calves time to rest and I keep my heart rate up and build some muscle as well.

Another thing to remember is that cardio or aerobic training only burns calories for 30 minutes after working out. Anaerobic or wieght training burns calories for 90 minutes after working out. Also the new muscle will burn more calories throughout the day, muscle needs fuel to live.

Best of luck with your weight loss!

Thanks for the advice too. I think I need to do some cardio exercise every day, though, just for the old ticker if anything else. I guess I can do easier cardio on the other days.

        Thanks again, friend.
