  • Best suited martial art?

Hey this is my first post obviously. All i was wondering was if i could get people's input into which martial art would best suit me. I've been exposed to several, such as karate and jujitsu. And while they interested me neither really struck me as something i'd be interested in pursuing long term. I don't really need it for protection.... more of a hobby/lifestyle change. I'm a little bigger than most people think. I've been american boxing for more than four years now so I'm kind of stuck in a rutt. 6'1, 188 pounds even. I'm very powerful but lack the full body speed that most of my opponents have. Fast hands, wish i had fast feet. So any input would be great, just hope i can find a place to study.
    Thanks.

You could never find Non-Commercialized KungFu School to study cause its so very very hard to find..... my advice is to go to Commercialized Muay Thai School and enroll there.....

Karate and Tae Kwon Do are a waste of time.......

Do you mean you can throw a hard punch but have limited defensive footwork or mobility? Are you getting tired of boxing?

Maybe you should try kung-fu or aikido. Seriously. From what the others say, kung fu or aikido are more of a lifestyle that just happens to have self-defense as part of its cirriculum.

      Can't hurt. Let us know.

Yeah i was looking muay thai... pretty brutal stuff....
Yeah I have alot of explosive power and stamina.... which kind of compensates for my near total lack of mobility.. hahaha...
Don't get me wrong i still love boxing.... people who just watch things of that nature may think it's brutal... but it's all in good fun... and most people don't get hurt as badly as they look...
I just don't find it as appealing as it used to be...
I have been looking into wing chun fung fu....... seems interesting... might go sit in on a lesson one day...
        Thanks guys
