  • started working out again

I just started running again...i'm going for 3 days a week MWF. One problem, I can only make it about 5 mins before my legs start to give out. If I just keep going my legs should, day by day, get used to it and i'll be able to keep going, right? I also don't think my stretching is very good, so i'll take any tips i can on stretching. Overall workout plan will be:
1.running, MWF, trying to get to 20-30 mins a day
2.lifting weights, 5 days a week, mixing it up so that i don't work out one particular muscle group more than twice in a week
    3.MMA 1-2 times a week

Hey man good question and hopefully I can help... I started running about 8 months ago... and went from being horrible at it to having great cardio endurance... i dont remember the exact scientific explanation but here goes.... your legs hurt because of lactic acid build up... you start building up this acid when you run out of breath... when u increase ur Vo2 or something like that... max oxygen intake.. basically its that ur lungs cant get enuff oxygen to your muscles sooo your legs start to hurt.. because those are the muscles needing the oxygen... eventually everything will get better... cardio and legs... if you just keep running... dont stop running thats the worst thing you can do because its a set back... you may find that one day your legs get tired before you run out of breath... and one day you run out of breath before your legs get tired.. this happened to me quite often and i never found out why... the only way to get past it is too keep running.. unless you have like heart disease or ahernia or something.. in which case you should prolly get that checked out.. long story short... keep running... you'll get better...

and remember to breath through your nose... first 6 months i didnt... last two i tried to do it and had to mentally keep breathing through my nose... ifoudn i could run much longer doing this...

hope that helps... keep running man.
