  • Coffee

    Good morning,

Now if your like me you enjoy a nice hot light and sweet(like i like my women) coffee from dunkin donuts or the local italian bakery. My only problem is i dont know how bad the coffee and the sugar actually is for me. im around the 150-160 weight and just touching 5'5 so i need to slim like 8-10 pounds to lose some extra and then gain back with protein and things. This question is for the people who have been training in the weight field for a while....DO I HAVE TO GIVE UP THE COFFEE??????????

    hehehe

    Hey Florida
I work in the AM in a coffee shop. You have a few options:
A: BLACK COFFEE (16 oz, with 1.5 splenda and up to 2 fingers SKIM or SOY milk)
B: Green Tea, absolutely pheonomonal for you-- it is recommend to drink up to a glass a day.
C:If you like lattes, add sugar free syrup or splenda.
D: Go for decaf, the caffine makes you hungry and plays with your metabloism in not the most positive way--proven to store fat
Here is why you will cut back on the cals:
In a mocha they don't use a syrup they use sauce:
Either Chocolate, white chocolate or carmel
These 3 have up to 180 cals. per pump, normal have 3-4 pumps.
Syrups have about 100 cals per pump--again more pumps because
they are more liquid and less dense.
    Ask any more questions
    I hoped this helped

No, you do not have to give up coffee. Now, if someone was drinking a pot a day, then I would say he/she should cut back, but if we are talking about 1-2 cups. That's no big deal. That is assuming you're talking about regular coffee with 1-2 sweetners and a little cream/milk. If you are talking about a $5 triple cream moca fat bomb from a crazed coffee "house," then, yeah, I would cut that out.

kckbxblnd mentioned green tea. Awesome stuff. Of the 1.5 gallons of water I drink per day, 1/2 gallon is green tea. Multitudes of benefits.

If you are really having trouble getting the last 8-10 lbs of fat off, watch your late day/evening carbs closely. But mostly, just eat clean and sensibly. Moderate to high protein, lots of fresh veggies, and try to keep your meals with large amounts of carbs somewhere around your training, when your body needs them the most.

Alright everyone hows it goin this is my first post............man coffee is fantastic training aid. The down sides of coffee is you drink to much you get dehydrated and you can get addicted to caffeine so if you stopped drinkin it after binging every day you'd experience head aches and tiredness due to goin cold turkey.

The PLUS side..............Before training I have a really strong coffee about 4-5 table spoons of black coffee.....half a cup of boiling water an fill the rest up with cold water.........it gets you really goosed up hightens energy, reactions and awareness (also good if your a comp fighter), thats why olympic athletes are restricted in their caffeine intake before competing..............its a huge advantage......if you fight in comps check the rules man dont get caught out!

Id try to cut down your caffeine intake to pre training man.....hope this has helped!!!!!!
