I would have to disagree. Look at the current population of young teens now and then. How many were "self-motivated," "hard workers?" How many do you know that are lazy and have no energy but don't smoke pot? I would bet it is a hell of a lot more than the ones that do. I'm just out of my teens and for a good while smoked several times a day while working a full-time job, a gym workout for an hour and half that started 10 miuntes after I clocked out and then another hour and a half martial arts training session following the gym. Monday through Friday and it didn't sap anything from me.

Would that me physically? And if not and you saying mentally you can through the caffiene addictions that how many people have? in there also.
I asked how so in a similar way and got nothing.

I guarranty that you know more people that are "stoners" than you think- you just don't realize it.

How many deaths are caused by cancer? I dare you to find one recorded death of someone who died from smoking marijuana.

You have yet to provide and informative links to back up all of these "facts" you have and sound more like a close-minded individual you were raised to be.

Just read an article proving that pot was physically addictive, but I have to go to the gym now so no time to look it up.

But if you look at Paul Pitchford's book Healing With Whole Foods he has tons of documentation and references, etc. on how THC builds up in the brain tissues of habitual users, causing cerebral atrophy, widening of synaptic clefts in the brain, disintegration of brain nerve cells and deposits of inclusion bodies in the nuclei of brain nerve cells. He said that it increases melatonin levels and that in TCM they say that the high results in large amounts of transformed kidney jing to be sent to the brain and therefore is depleted.

Yes, there are self-motivated hard working pot smokers. Imagine their potential if they gave up the green stuff.

I have no interest in getting into a pot vs. booze debate, but you have to compare stoners to alcoholics, you can't compare a casual drinker to a habitual smoker. You'd have to compare two moderate users for the comparison to be valid. If you'd prefer you can compare someone who gets loaded drunk every day to someone who smokes pot every day. However, characterizing all pot-heads or all alchoholics as "stupid" reflects that you are either blinded by your prejudice or are simply surrounding yourself with stupid people. I've known highly intelligent people that use all sorts of different things- that doesn't make their decisions wise but their level of ability is what it is regardless.

This first part is from the M.A.D.D website.

According to the preliminary Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS)
data released earlier today by the National Highway Traffic Safety
Administration (NHTSA), the number of alcohol-related traffic fatalities
              increased 1.7 percent from 16,694 in 2004 to 16,972 in 2005

This is from U.S. Government Bureau of Mortality Statistics on the U.S. government website.

              Q. Has Anyone Ever Died From Smoking Marijuana?

              A. No; not one single case, not ever. THC is one of the few chemicals for which there is no known toxic amount [10.]. The federal agency NIDA says that autopsies reveal that 75 people per year are high on marijuana when they die: this does not mean that marijuana caused or was even a factor in their deaths. The chart below compares the number of deaths attributable to selected substances in a typical year:

              Tobacco...............................340,000 - 395,000

              Alcohol (excluding crime/accidents).............125,000+

              Drug Overdose (prescription)............24,000 - 27,000

              Drug Overdose (illegal)...................3,800 - 5,200

              Marijuana.............................................0

There's the numbers argue with them I'm done.

During 2004, 16,694 people in the U.S. died in alcohol-related motor vehicle crashes, representing 39% of all traffic-related deaths (NHTSA 2005).

Each year, alcohol-related crashes in the United States cost about $51 billion (Blincoe 2002).

Nearly three quarters of those convicted of driving while impaired are either frequent heavy drinkers (alcohol abusers) or alcoholics (alcohol dependent) (Miller 1986).

Research leads to bills that protect children from drinking drivers
CDC’s findings about the number of children killed in cars driven by drinking drivers has led legislators in several states to introduce bills to help protect them from drinking drivers. Such legislation creates special penalties under state child abuse laws for persons who transport children while driving drunk. Results from the study showed that nearly two-thirds of children killed in drinking driver-related crashes were riding with the impaired driver. Fewer than 20 percent of the children killed were properly restrained at the time of the crash, and restraint use decreased as the driver’s blood alcohol concentration increased.

                .................................................

Hmm cant find a SINGLE death attributed to pot....but the facts on alcohol are overwhelming

                      • Pot's low cancer risk a surprise finding
Marijuana smoke thought to be similar to tobacco

                        By HEATHER BURKE
                        BLOOMBERG NEWS

People who smoke marijuana may be at less risk of developing lung cancer than tobacco smokers, according to a new study.

The study of 2,200 people in Los Angeles found that even heavy marijuana smokers were no more likely to develop lung, head or neck cancer than non-users, in contrast with tobacco users, whose risk increases the more they smoke.

The findings are a surprise because marijuana smoke has some of the same cancer-causing substances as tobacco smoke, often in higher concentrations, said the senior researcher, Donald Tashkin, a professor at the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California-Los Angeles.

One possible explanation is that THC, a key ingredient in marijuana not present in tobacco, may inhibit tumor growth, he said in an interview.

"You can't give marijuana a completely clean bill of health," said Tashkin, who is to present the study to a conference of the American Thoracic Society. "I wouldn't give any smoke substance a clean bill of health. All you can say is we haven't been able to confirm our suspicions that marijuana might be a risk factor for lung and head and neck cancer."

About 1,200 adults under age 60 with cancer of the lung, tongue, mouth, throat or esophagus, took part in the study, as well as about 1,000 without cancer, between 1999 and 2003.

Marijuana use was found to be no greater or less in any of the groups -- 44 percent of those with lung cancer, 41 percent with head or neck cancers, and 42 percent of those without cancer, said Tashkin.

Other studies had suggested marijuana smoking was a risk factor for cancer, Tashkin said. Marijuana smokers inhale more deeply than tobacco smokers and often hold the smoke in their lungs more than four times longer, depositing more tar, he said.

The results of Tashkin's study confirm some earlier research, said Paul Armentano, a senior policy analyst at the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, which advocates legalizing marijuana use.

"It'll be surprising results in light of the way marijuana has been presented for many years by the government and the media, as a cancer-causing agent," Armentano said.

Dr. Bertha Madras, deputy director for demand reduction at the White House's drug policy office, said she couldn't directly comment on the study without seeing the details.

"There is strong evidence that chronic marijuana use can lead to adverse effect on lung function such as increased bronchitis and lung inflammation," Madras said.

The study was funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, Tashkin said.
