Hi, I just want to make everyone aware of a little-known sport called Footbag that could be used as a serious training technique as well! Footbag is more commonly called "Hacky-Sack," though the sport itself is far more complicated than getting around in circle and kicking a bag repetitively. In Footbag, the athletes try to perform the most impressive tricks that they can. I am getting pretty good at Footbag and I can honestly say it's a huge help.
Footbag requires you to have great balance, strength, flexibility, and foot-eye coordination, aspects that are also desirable in the martial arts. If you don't believe me, check out www.footbag.org and watch some of the videos - they're blow your mind! Everything you see is much harder then it looks and I'm convinced that if you took any professional footbagger and threw a gi on him, in a few months he could kick some ass!
Of course, getting good at Footbag requires a lot of time and effort and at the beginning it's just repetitive learning to control the bag. However, if you're dedicated, you may learn a fun new sport while improving all sorts of necessary skills!
P.S. Here's a link to a cool routine by last year's champion: http://www.footbag.org/gallery/show/1196
