  • press ups daily... good idea or no?

Its all in the title... press ups every day, ideally to muscle failure but in practice until it hurts enough to put me off doing another one.

Currently this is about 20 because i havent been training for.. oh dear... about 4 months. Thats scary.. i should get back... but yeah. WIll pressups every day be counterproductive? Cheers people

Depends. Press ups or push ups are fine everyday. However, if youre pushing it like that, then no. If you really cant do anymore and youre in pain then take a day off. I do push ups every other day when I do it hard. If you do a few everyday its okay. But if you do 1000 one day and expect to do it again tommorow, good luck. If youre in bad shape, Id say do incline push ups.

    3x60 incline push ups
    3x10 regular push ups
    3x10 dips
    3xMax Rep incline push ups

I used this every other day when I came back from being injured.

the same as a push up as far as i know. Someone thought one was against a wall, one on the floor, but he seemed to be the only one who thought that if i recall correctly. Im assuming an incline push up would be one on a sloping floor, but is the slope there to make it easier or harder? Depends what end your heads at i think...

Press ups are push ups. Press ups on a incline / make it easier. Press ups on a decline \ are harder. Incline takes some weight out of it, well the decline adds. Press ups or push ups are great workout cause you can put weights on your back to build muscle, do a lot for toning, and do wide and close to target all parts of the chest. Its a traditional upper body workout.
