  • Overtraining with Bodyweight Exercises

I've been doing a bodyweigth routine every other day for the past week, off days when I train at the dojo. On the days I don't do a full blown routine, I do different exercises throughout the day whenever I get spare moments ala GTG. My concern is the possibily of overtraining. Is that a possible risk when doing bw exercises?

There is probably always some risk involved in overtraining when you do a lot of exercising. The main thing is to listen to your body. Pay attention for signs of overtraining. If they come on, ease up a bit.
On the flip side, pushing yourself is how you are going to make progress. Personally, I like the idea of throwing in some random bodyweight movements throughout the day. Such will prepare the body (muscles, connective tissues, nerves, mind-muscle-connection) to be ready for activity at a moments notice.
    Just my opinion.
