  • Ross's Book "Never Gymless"

Hey, I just bought Ross Enamait's book "Never Gymless" and I must say it is a really good bodyweight strength training book, and very reasonably priced. It costs $25 plus about $3-$5 more for shipping and handling. I ordered it from Ross and then he e-mailed me back personally upon receiving the order to say he was shipping it. Like he said, it arrived about three days later. The book contains all sorts of bodyweight strength training exercises and information, plus information on how to manufacture some home-made equipment. He also has a good article on nutrition, and some on conditioning.

He doesn't limit himself to bodyweight training though, and acknowledges other training methods are very good. He just says this particular book is aimed at bodyweight training solely. In it he includes a lot of outrageously hard exercises. He also includes training programs in it (it isn't just a collection of exercises).

Contrasted with Matt Furey's "Combat Conditioning," which costs around the same, but with far less information, and Pavel Tsatsouline's "The Naked Warrior" which costs $40 store-bought, and concentrates only on the one-legged squat and the one-arm pushup (the book could easily fit into something half its size because it practically double-spaced), "Never Gymless" really is THE best bodyweight strength training book out there for a reasonable price.

I also just purchased Tom Kurz's "Stretching Scientifically." I have yet to read it but if it is really good I will write a recommendation (I am sure many people know of it but are wondering if they should buy it or not).

Now all I need is Christophen Sommer's Gymnastics book to come out
