  • Spring Crunch Challenge

Heres, the deal. I am issuing a challenge to anyone on this board for the most crunches done between Tommorow which is first day of winter until March 21st 2007 first day of spring. It is total honor system and you can count crunches done anyway you can do them. eg. with an ab roller, ab lounge, sit up bench , lower, diagonal, upper ........whatever. We will post our cumulative results every Thursday or Friday in this thread.

And before anyone starts to criticize; take note that this is the Fitness, Nutrition and Training forumn.

    Whos in?

    Count me in.

I do the kinds of situps done by the navy/marines. Knees bended, arms folded, touching elbow to thigh.

    I can bang out 80-90 in 2:00.

PS - I've started a new running thread. If you're speed walking, could you contribute? Thanks!

I do 400 crunches every morning with weekends off. I do 4 different types, 100 each. I do 100 of your normal crunches with a device call the ab roller, then I do 50 on each side with the ab roller. Then I do, 100 lower ab crunches which involve pulling you knees up towards your face with your hands locked behind your head, then I do the lower ab crunches in a twisting motion both on the left and right side.

I take the weekends off...........thus I just started back today after the long new years holiday. I do 400 daily with 100 upper, 100 side, 150 lower, 50 lower/diagonal.

For you guys who grapple and spar you will really notice a difference in your ability to take trauma to the gut, especially being pile drived or on the receiving end of a strike.

For you guys who have girlfriends, you'll notice a difference too.....on the receiving end of blows and in the increase in force delivery from your core....

Does it count if my lazy ass just has somebody drop a medicine ball on me repeatedly? It contracts the muscles, right?

Doing consistent and intense ab work builds your core, which is good for impact resistance and force generation....

What weight med ball are you using? How often does your partner drop it on you?
