Hellllllo. Hopefully you are somewhat of an expert on nutrition for I am in need of a little advice.
I am going to play a strung out drug addict in an up coming indie film. I would of originally had 4 months to physically prepare for this part, but I was not the first choice for this role. I was just notified 10 days ago that I was picked for the part and told to start preparing for it immediatly. Nevertheless, shooting starts in 6 weeks and I need to weigh under 190lbs, ( I am currently 240 lbs).
I am not looking for a long lasting solution here, since I am comfortable at my current weight. I just need to shed the weight super fast for the part, and I expect to gain it back.
I am currently drinking a nutrional shake called scan-diet. I think its pretty close to a myoplex.
I have been drinking 10 glasses of water and having 3 scan-diet shakes per day, and also taking Xenadrine thermogenic capsules to help speed up my metabolism.
I have not had anything else other than the shakes since last monday, (No food at all). And I've lost 12 lbs in 7 days.
So here are my questions:
Can I continue to keep losing at a rate of 7-10 lbs per week if I only have 3 shakes a day and continue cardio 6 days per week? From the little knowledge I do have about this type of dieting, I am afraid of going on that "starvation" mode, therfor making it harder to lose weight. Any way around this?
Should I include any sort of weight training?
Should I be eating anything at all? If so, what foods? How often? How much?
Should I cut down on cardio to 3-4 times a week rather than 6 to give my body a rest? Or is 6 better for the results and time frame i am working in?
And lastly, are there any other health / nutrition / training forums I could post this in where people may be able to give decent advice?
Thanks for your time.
