  • need to lose 50 lbs in 6 weeks for movie (help please)

Hellllllo. Hopefully you are somewhat of an expert on nutrition for I am in need of a little advice.

I am going to play a strung out drug addict in an up coming indie film. I would of originally had 4 months to physically prepare for this part, but I was not the first choice for this role. I was just notified 10 days ago that I was picked for the part and told to start preparing for it immediatly. Nevertheless, shooting starts in 6 weeks and I need to weigh under 190lbs, ( I am currently 240 lbs).

I am not looking for a long lasting solution here, since I am comfortable at my current weight. I just need to shed the weight super fast for the part, and I expect to gain it back.

I am currently drinking a nutrional shake called scan-diet. I think its pretty close to a myoplex.

I have been drinking 10 glasses of water and having 3 scan-diet shakes per day, and also taking Xenadrine thermogenic capsules to help speed up my metabolism.

I have not had anything else other than the shakes since last monday, (No food at all). And I've lost 12 lbs in 7 days.

    So here are my questions:

Can I continue to keep losing at a rate of 7-10 lbs per week if I only have 3 shakes a day and continue cardio 6 days per week? From the little knowledge I do have about this type of dieting, I am afraid of going on that "starvation" mode, therfor making it harder to lose weight. Any way around this?

Should I include any sort of weight training?

Should I be eating anything at all? If so, what foods? How often? How much?

Should I cut down on cardio to 3-4 times a week rather than 6 to give my body a rest? Or is 6 better for the results and time frame i am working in?

And lastly, are there any other health / nutrition / training forums I could post this in where people may be able to give decent advice?

    Thanks for your time.

Hello! Here is a great program my friend who is a bodybuilder gave me and I lost 135 lbs in 7 months.Cut out all that shake and pills crap, its all garbage.Instead you need to maximize your protien, eat nothing but protien ..specificallyIce Cream.Ice cream (believe it or not, has been scientifically proven to AID in weight loss.As long as it is you only serving of fat/protien . Eat one 10 oz serving of ice cream at breakfast and that is your only meal for the day.Cut out all the h2o itll make u bloated , instead drink 3 to 8 12 oz glasses of Hawaian Punch, the sugar will give you carbs you need and can burn off quickly. .Ceace all resistance and cardiovascular workouts for the duration of this diet : 6 weeks. Dont go longer than this and drink a gallon of h2o every day for 3 days after completion to flush the kidneys. Finally, if you are in good health and decent shape try this: Nutmeg: eat 1 tblspn a day for 30 days, increasing the number by one every consecutive day... i.e. day 14 = 14 tblspns of nutmeg. nutmeg is an awesome fat burner ,I dont know the chemistry behind it but it works ! believe me !good luck!

at mixedmartialarts.com, on the 'strength and conditioning' board, there is a guy called 'Ali'...he really knows his stuff. To me it sounds like what you are doing is incredibly unhealthy...but I'm no expert. Talk with him, he is good

              Did you do it?

I'd be interested to know if you lost the weight. If so what did you end up doing?

This reminds me of that miracle diet that a poor farmer designed for his horse. Each day he gave it one less strand of hay until it was down to only one or two.

He never did wean it down to nothing at all as it mysteriously died.

These "wonder" diets are a serious health risk.

when i have to loose weight i do not go on diet shakes. the only shake i use is protein shake. ( just to prevent burning of muscle mass instead of fat).

i use cla for balancing the percent between fat and muscles.
i use hca to block some of the fat.
i use vitamin e to get a good metabolism.

but still the most important thing sis to eat many but small meals.
eat a small meal every 3 hour. drink lots of water.

well anyway, if you want to lose that much weight in 6 weeks, i feel sorry for you, and i feel more sorry for your body.

you have to relaize that it will take 3 times as much time to get fat of than put it on. If you make your goal in 6 weeks, i am sorry to tell you taht your fat percent would most probably be the same, because you would have burned a lot of muscle mass.

let me give you an advice, ( think twice).
this is not the way to go.

If all that extra weight is fat why do you want to gain it right back? You dont deserve my aswere you fool.

Bri Thai is absolutly correct these diets that other people are giving you are dangerous!!!!!!

If you want to lose 50 pounds in 4 weeks get lyposuction. Otherwise eat fruit for every meal, drink plenty of water! and definitly do not eat plent of sugars or processed foods.

for your weight loss goals you should be working out all day long and eating nothing but lettuce for ever meal...

its not realistic to loos 50 lbs in that amount of time you will belossing lots of muscle if you come anywhere close to your goal. that is assuming that you dont die from malnutrition...
its not natural to put on 50 lbs in 6 weeks so it is definatly not natural to take it off.

Check out the 'Hay Diet', the original food combining diet.
It's a real good eating plan that works wonders for your health and your weight! Here's a couple of links:

I would consider re-writing the part for a one-legged, one armed junkie.
