I train my 2 nephews and neice by playing games mimicking how animals walk. They lonve it, we have races, and play tag like that. I train with animal type walks, and whenever I do it, it does help. The way I see it, any physical skill can help martial arts. People are allways too caught up in training sport specifically that they forget that ANY training is good. Have your normal training sessions, and do what you feel like asides from them. I knoiw for me, when I just stick to normal trainign sessions and rest the rest of the time, I never feel as good, I feel stifled, and I dont feel any great progress... just a slow crawl upwards, thats what I do when I rest injuries. But if I am fine! Then I train normally, martial arts, working out, and during the day whenever I see somthign to punch or train with. I feel much better! And no animal walks wont hurt your back if you do them correctly. I have a bad lower back, and they are actually helping me, since I started them, its been getting better. They are great for agility, strength, helping to master bodyweight, speed, fun, and feeling retarded when other people are around XP
