  • Towel Chin Ups. Ultimate in forearm, wrist and finger strength

Hang two towels over a chinning bar and pull yourself up using them.

This is one of the great excerises I have found to work forearm, wrist and grip strength. I have been weight training for years doing zillions of chin ups on a bar, but towel chin ups are completly different. At first I started by folding the towels to a thickness of a regular bar. (Even these where hard to do becuase of the grip you take on them.) Im slowly taking folds out making the towels thinner and thinner, whilst using less fingers. The goal is to be doing chins without any folds using just my thumb and one or two fingers.

Supersetted with finger tip push ups, the burn is intense after a few sets!

interesting. do you hang from the ends of the towel? or right near the actual bar? Regardless this sounds interesting what kind of sets have you done using this method? I'd give it a try

I grip not near the bar but not at the end of the towel. About 2 inches away from the ends. When a started doing chins on a bar my goal was to reach 50, reghardless of how many sets it takes. After a few months a was doing it in 5 sets.

Im using the same principle with towel chins and its taking me about 8 sets right now. I would like to get it done in five or less within a couple of months, then i shal start taking away fingers and folds in the towels.
