For Stretching, this is my personnal workout.

    At my Home,
-Everyday Day, In Morning and Before Sleep i take 5-10minutes and i stretch my entire body
-2 Times per Week, Yoga for Martial Artist, around 30min Routine

    At Club,
-4 Times Per Week, Explosive and Dynamic Stretching, for tweeny minutes
-3 Times Gymnastic Style Stretching for Judo-JiuJitsu
-Periodic Involved Muscle Stretching for different Martial Arts.

The most important thing in martial art and fighting, it's Stretching, WarmUp and Physical Training.

Try to Stretch Yourself 2 times per day, with Small and Simple Stretch Method. Hold it for 10-15second. Not to the pain, just hold the stretch, do not put a stress factor in your muscle, the muscle react to the pain and become harder, You can bless yourself... not a good idea.

Good luck with your stretching. Go Quietly But Everytime!
    RedNoze.

My "idiot proof" Lazy man stretching routine

I have several methods for maintaining flexible, and am still able to do the front and side splits even though I'm in my forties, (they dont call me OLD skool for nothin! )

                  Find yourself a staircase.
                  Go to the bottom.
Put your leg as higest stair that it can go.
                  Relax into the stretch.

What's good about this method is that you will be able to easily chart your progress by the amount of stairs you are able to "climb" after a period of time. It is also a very safe way to ease yourself into the splits without too much trauma.

Take a hot bath before stretching
Take a hot bath after stretching

In the morning I do what's called "DYNAMIC STRETCHING" I hold onto a chair and gently but quickly kick my leg back and up (keeping the leg stiff) as far as it can go. I do approx 10 15 reps and repeat the exercise by doing it from a "side kick" position, adn also a stff legged front kick position (pretend you're kicking a field goal) I also do crescent kicks over a chair.

Stretch whenever you have an opportunity. On a stairwell at work, while watching TV, while reading in bed, etc. Pretty soon, it will become like breathing. And you'll be a lot looser.
Being stretched actually kept me out of the doctors office one day. I was running to catch a subway train when I suddenly felt my front leg go out from me. I realized that I had stepped on some paper that was on the platform, and instead of "fighting it" I slid down into a front split without thinking about it. I missed the train, but also missed a doctors appointment! Had I not kept up my routine, I definitely would've torn muscles.
