you take everything too seriously, including bruce lees philosophies im sorry to say. why would thety even bother putting it in that magazine anyway in the first place? if indeed it were a training regime of substance, everyone is going to tell everyone else without paying for it anyway, its just like training information of all other types, word of mouth.

and im not going to ring that number, as im quite happy to achieve my goals by myself finding out information that has been tried and tested and proven that it is safe. and im looking fantastic and training harder everyday with my current methods. good old fashiobned hard work - cant beat it.

          Hi Fighter,

Thought that I would just post a message to you regarding some of your posts and the attitude that I have picked up from them.

Sometimes when people stumble across new information that really works for them they have the tendency to become evangelistic about that information.

Then they really push it onto everyone that they come into contact with... whether invited too or not and demand that this is how everyone should be (consider the Born Again Christian).

From some of your posts on this forum it looks as if you are starting new threads just so you can talk about yourself and your own opinions. You are not looking for new information or other people's opinions... you are just looking for someone who will listen and certainly not disagree with you.

Yes I have the Spartan Health Regime which I have used since 1998/1999 (I believe that I have copy # 964 of the first edition). But understand that it is not for everyone. Only 0.001% of people are looking for that style of hardcore training, the majority of people are looking for moderate health, mainly due to their other commitments in their life..... family, work, etc.

I understand that you are 15 years old and have used the training regime for a month or two. Congratulations. I am glad to hear that you are getting results and are committed to achieving perfect health.

But you lack flexability in your approach and lack your own life experience.

After all, the Spartan Health Regime is still just one persons opinion on the best way to be healthy. What if it turns out that his approach is not healthy for you?

The only way that you will find out is from life experience and having an open mind. Wasn't it Bruce Lee who repeated the Zen story of emptying your cup so that you can taste other people's tea?

My advice is be open and flexible. Test all the different strategies and see what works for you. Discard those that do not work for you, but also remember that those strategies may work for someone else.

I'm sorry but there are such things as limits. Will anyone ever be able to run 10,000,000 miles in 2 seconds? The answer is no. Looks like we have found a limit. And where you find one limit, you will often find others.

And don't take everything so seriously. This is one area where I feel the Spartan Health Regime lacks. That is, a focus on training and developing your mind.

We are each in our own race ultimately, so there is no 2nd best. After all, life is only a game. Enjoy it while you can.

          Good luck.

            On limitations

Despite his own rhetoric, Bruce Lee did believe in limitations of a kind. I think there is a misconception about what "no limitations but no limitations" means. Lee was speaking about mental limitations, mostly.

Limitations garnered through experience, bias, frame of reference, and outside influences, such that the individual becomes stifled in his attempt at honest self-expression.

The very fact that we are sentient yet separate from each other is itself a limitation of the physical kind. We don't have physical wings, and to prove that BL didn't think we could grow them through mere effort of will, I quote a famous interview:

"Nowadays you don't go around the streets kicking people or punching people, because if you do someone will simply pull out a gun and -- BANG! That's it. I don't care how good you are at martial art."

            No limitations?

Of course, those who believe no limitations exist are most likely to shatter the supposed limitations of others. Once, going to the Moon in ten years sounded impossible. It wasn't. However, NASA proved it. They had to. Theory is little better than a wish.

That's why the burden of proof is on the theorist. You can tell me you can run faster than a car. Fine. Just do it. I'll be amazed.

Bruce Lee's doctor once said he was the healthiest person he'd ever seen. He died early. George Burns lived three times as long and smoked cigars until the end. Chance and genetics are factors. That is reality, and so are bullets. The attachment to “no limitations” can be itself a limiting dogma. You must escape dogma and seek truth through experience.

Both the human body and reality are more complex than a simple health regime, no matter how well thought out. Still, it may work for some -- or it could end up killing you ten years down the road. But it sounds harsh, and probably only the most driven would bother.

Certainly I hope it works for you and you get where you want to be. Good luck.

Thanks Brokenmace and wsblack999 These were great replies I MEAN GREAT!.

wsblack999 you opened my mind thankyou. I will try to be more understanding towards others ideas. And I do sometimes get carried away with ideas but again that is the way I am....Sorry.

Brokenmace Im aware that it is impossible to do things like run 10,000,000 miles in 2 secs in one life time. But I was not thinking of things like that...So I was wrong. I was thinking of things that are not that great. But I am a fanatic and I will try to impress you in the future.

As for Bruce's death. First Bruce was the greatest man alive until he became rich and famous, Then he started chewing the root of marajuana. He went over to a friends house one evening she gave him some of her perscribed headache medicine.....Bruce never woke up. Now they are almost positive that the medicine had a reaction with the marajuana and caused a brain edema.

I'm glad to see that you can admit you are wrong. That is hard for many men. More should follow your example, as it only leads to self-betterment. However, if you've rendered results for yourself based on your previous assumptions, and already proven others wrong, don't back down. Balance is the key in everything we do. But don't expect your unique balance to be everyone else's.

Bruce Lee was able to adapt, but he was driven as well and accomplished great things. That he didn't lead a perfect life is a problem we all face. I won't get into scientific jargon, but suffice it to say that any little-studied drug interaction could have lead to his death, such as marijuana and headache pills.

For example, grapefruit juice can either drastically increase or decrease the effects of many prescription drugs. Had he imbibed grapefruit juice and taken just one medication prescribed from his doctor, it might have killed him. That wasn't known at the time of his death. All I'm saying is that illegal substances aren't just illegal because they hurt people, therefore I make no idictment of his moral standing. Certainly there are a plethora of legal ways to end up dead.

Believe me, I'm not trying to get anyone to smoke weed (it is SMOKED, after all), but I have a long habit of adding my two cents.
