Excessive force is rite in saying that conditioning mostly helps prevent injuries......

As for palm comditioning I hv seem slapping the palms of the hands often but I myself slap only the heel or bottom fleshy area of my palms with each other or the heavy bag.

I like to punch the heavy bag with and without gloves. I've never done bareknuckle puschups, but they seems like a good idea, if you want to make things harder.

      What are callouses?
What does it have to do with your vision getting weaker?

First spanky, I can solve your problem, Just keep doing what you are currently doing but use sandpaper between your palms and the other area you are trying to condition. In a month or two your problems will be solved. one way or another.

I've done knuckle pushups off of cinderblocks, it sucks. but you learn to keep your wrists straight and your knuckles eventually get used to it.

I never used bag gloves until I started doing lots of punching and tore my hands up one day. Then I had to wrap them and use gloves so that they could heal.

My shins just got conditioned from being kicked in sparring for 20 years.

Hmmm......maybe because ur fist scratches on the bag, happend to me too, the thing is u hv to hit solidly without slipping ur fist in the bag.........this will be tricky at first but u will eventually get used to it.

          A note on knuckle push-ups

They gradually strengthen ur knuckles with minimal risk of injury,

However the correct way to do them is by using a tight fist where u curl ur fingers all the way inside ur palms and keep only the knuckles of the forefinger and middle finger on the ground. That way ur wrist will not slip.

This method even helps strengthen ur wrists

          Hope that helps,

          Mayur

            knucle conditioning is good!!!

Learning to strike with knuckles will be much more helpful than restricting yourself to palms only. I do bare knuckle push-ups on cement, and it has really helped in the efficiency of power supplied to pain caused to the receiving opponent.

Palm heel strikes do not damage the hand when used.

I have heard it said that palm heel strikes are more likely to K.O. an opponent

              USE PALM STRIKES YOU MORON!!!

Conditioning knuckles is a waste of time because:

You should use palm heel strikes instead

You will break your hands when you punch someone anyway

You will regret it when you get medical problems

Say no to knuckle conditioning kids.

Why is that any MA forget ,that just working Heavy bag only in hand wraps will condition whole wrist better than any traditional methods?

If you guys don't want to get hurt then don't get into fights. If you get into fights you will get hurt. Doesn't matter if its your wrist, palm, fist, brain or balls.

                          Ncassidy,
There's nothing wrong with hitting the bag without wraps and bag gloves, but you WILL injure yourself unnecessarily if you continue to do this on a consistent basis. Boxers wear wraps and gloves for a reason. When you hit something, your hand and wrist compress, and they're a part of your body. As such, they will become injured eventually. Either solely use open hand blows or come to terms with the fact that your hands will be unusable after a time. When you fight, you accept that you will probably be injured at some point or another. Why do it to yourself in training? Try mixing gloved and ungloved bag sessions--you'll thank yourself in the long run.

You "will injure yourself doing any training". I still don't get this argument. In anything that has to do with training for a fight there is a risk of injury. You can hit a heavy bag without gloves or wraps and not get injured. I am not saying I can do it yet. But it can and has been done. It has more to do with proper technique than strength, though.

                              Thai. .
By the way, I actually agree with you on a lot of concepts. Just seems to me that you disagree with anyone or anything that is affiliatiated with an eastern art. It seems kind of ignorant to me. But, you are entitled to your opinion. A lot of those concepts that you think are exclusive to your combat training, or whatever it is, are used in the eastern arts at a lot of schools. It is just that most of the time eastern arts are not for the sole purpose of learning how to beat people up. So it may not be something that you learn in the first six months or it may be the fact that they told you and you were to dumb to pick up on it(No offense intended, but sometimes people tell you things over and over and it just doesn't click. Happens to almost every student I have ever known.) Sometimes it just takes someone else saying it a different way or in a different context and you finally get it. Damn Im rambling again. Oh well. .Hope you got something out of this thai

                                grubbogoppoly,
Firstoff, quote properly. Nobody said what you put into quotes.

                                Second,
If you know anything about how your body works, you will realize that it is only supposed to take so much punishment, especially in a set of joints like the hand. Yes, you can definitely hit a bag without wraps or gloves--I do it every now and then. However, if you do this with any kind of frequency, you will end up damaging your hands. Sorry, but there is no 'other point of view' on this one. It's important to be able to hit the bag unassisted so that you know that you have the wrist and fist integrity necessary to hit someone without gloves. Despite this, no boxing trainer will advocate beating the sh!t out of your hands for no reason. Nothing you can do to your hand will allow it to become impervious to breaking, so stop causing early arthritus.
