  • Decreasing recovery time

How do I decrease my recovery time after weight training? It used to be about 1-2 days, and then I could go and lift again, but now its about 1 week, where its as if I've torn my muscles, and lose some range of movement.

So, is there anyway to decrease recovery time, besides having a high protein intake, as I already do that .

I've heard that salmon, almonds, plenty of water, olive oil help to reduce recovery time.

Just stay at the age of 20, for the rest of your life. Yeah, if only!

The best way is to rest, sleep and eat. But why do you want to do so much weight training? have you no life?

More than twice a week is like a ball and chain anyway. You'll burn out psychologically if you do any more unless, of course, you are not training with sufficient intensity.

ps - I've just done five rounds on a spar pro followed by a full body weight training workout. Its good to be alive isn't it! Whaaaaaa Hoooooooooo!!!!!!!!

        I'm 19 .

Anyways, to get the maximum out of weight training, you have to put the effort into eating right as well, so basically, on days where I train, I end up just taking supplements and eating properly.

Weight training is a pretty big part of my life .

Make sure to do a sufficient warmup and cooldown. Be sure to include plenty of static stretching.

After your workout, try to get a large dose of complex carbohydrates within 60-120 minutes of finishing your workout. Your muscle glycogen stores will replenish much quicker when ingesting carbs within this time frame.

1 hour before a weight training session I have half a litre of skimmed milk, containing three heaped table spoons of skimmed, dried milk. And I get another down as soon as I have finished.
