1 study is hardly a good source. For something to be reliable there should be lots of studies which show the same thing. You just can't have a large enough sample in one single study to represent the population.

In addition I do know that there are a lot of bodybuilders that use 2-3 g per lb. But, I just question that it is necessary. I have never counted cals or any of that stuff. Just eat clean most of the time and get a substantial amount of protein and I think you will be fine. Personally my body tells me when I need more. So I just listen.

Well, im NOT a bodybuilder at all, the muscle mass i do build up (mostly i just tune the allready present muscle mass i assume, since i gain strenght without noticably more bulk/weight) is lean. Ive never used any supplements before (apart from cod-liver oil and C and E vitamins in the mornings ) , and i still managed to build strenght, so i can't immagine that something like half a kilo of pure protein a day would be nessecary in order to increase my muscle mass....

I dunno, im a newbie in this, so il just shut up and listen to the experienced guys here ^_^
