1 study is hardly a good source. For something to be reliable there should be lots of studies which show the same thing. You just can't have a large enough sample in one single study to represent the population.
In addition I do know that there are a lot of bodybuilders that use 2-3 g per lb. But, I just question that it is necessary. I have never counted cals or any of that stuff. Just eat clean most of the time and get a substantial amount of protein and I think you will be fine. Personally my body tells me when I need more. So I just listen
