  • Jumping on a trampoline

I have a little mini one like some sad old lady. But its actually quite good. I have an anaerobic session where I blast away with burpees for 40-50 seconds, and then spend the next minutes and 10-20 seconds (making a total of 2 minutes overall) bouncing lightly on the thing. I do that for a total of 5 cycles, making 10 minutes in all.

Its far easier on my aged calf muscles, but still helps keep em toned. Occasionally I do an extended 20-30 minutes aerobically, merely bouncing on it without doing anything else. When I get back onto a solid floor my legs feels like lead.

When I went on a trampoline in school no one else wanted a go so I stayed on for ages. It's almost like flying, one day I will buy my own trampoline and go on it every day. Great fun and good excersise, what more could you ask for?

Toys 'R Us has a 12 foot circular trampoline on for under 200. It's rated to 250 lbs. Loads of fun. It's gotta be good for you...unless you miss the trampoline or land on the frame or break your neck doing summersaults.

That sounds good. Be careful with front sommersaults I nearly fell off the first time I tried one of those (I hadn't been taught how to do them). And stay away from backward sommersaults!

That's because lizards have long bodies, they bounce further.

I guess trampolines improve your jump, but its nothing that a jump rope can't do in terms of keeping you on the balls of your feet, improve your footwork and work on shoulder/upper back stamina.

but jumping rope is more fun than running, therefore sticking pins in your eye is also more fun than running.

I love jumping rope. I also love jumping on trampolines. I love jumping on trampolines more than I love jumping rope.

                        Trampoline > jump rope

I like running more than I like jumping rope. I like jumping on Trampolines more than jumping rope. I like Jumping over things more than I like jumping rope.

I guess I really just don't like the rope.

Enjoyment is an important factor, if you enjoy the trampoline then you will stick at it. The guy who has to jump rope will soon get tired and give up. Trampoline guy ends up being a better jumper.

They should make a trampoline that has padded walls around it.

Just like at the asylum... drool...

They should just put those 1-2 feet thick matts around it, no worries about falling and breaking your neck
