    Your going to need to do way more than 5 exercise to get a reall good workout
    That's misguided. There's no one right way to do anything, especially weight train, ESPECIALLY not knowing the other persons muscle composition, fitness level, or anything else.

    Another certified trainers input..

    You can easily do more compound movements to get a effective workout without lots of sets and reps. In fact for martial arts, I'd reccomend compound movements long before I'd suggest doing 100 isolation movements, working your biceps in dozens of different way.

    In fact, alot of trainers suggest that you stick with compound movements for a few years, and once you're pretty seriously developed, then get into isolation movements and doing 3+ exercises per muscle group.
