Go get metamucil. I've read that historically--e.g. pre-historically, humans evolved eating something on the order of 100g of fiber a day. I think its recommended now that you get at least 20g and the average American still has problem getting that.
Fiber is found in leafy greens (spinach, cabbage, lettuce, mustard greens, etc.). Celery. Apricots and prunes actually have a fair bit of fiber in them. Oatmeal (the real stuff, not instant). Whole grain breads. Shredded wheat cereal. Oat bran.
Also, I've read in a few places that high protein diets can produce some toxic metabolites implicated in heart disease. Supposedly supplementation with folic acid (normally just recommended for women) will alleviate the effects of these metabolites. This would probably be a concern if you get up to Falcon's levels of protein consumption (e.g. 200+ grams a day).

You mean you can't get fiber eating at popular restaraunts like Chipotle and Taco Milagro...lol.
I would assume that grains, corn, carrots and leafy vegetables are good natural sources of fiber. The problem is that no one has time to prepare and eat those things - everybody wants to be the best husband, dad, employee/CEO, golfer and karateka of the world and thus they don't invest the time into eating right.
I think healthy habits are a time investment and when your at the office from 8-5, on the golf course from 6:30-8:00pm and then meeting your client from 8:30-9:00pm you just eat what comes your way.
So, for those that have 'souped' up schedules, how can one take in a helpfull amount of fiber?

Tom Yum-- Corn is all starch, no fiber there. And all grains are not created equal. White rice is also starch, no fiber. Wild rice with all those husks and whatnot has fiber. Carrots, again, strachy I believe, not a significant source of fiber.

Well Tom Yum looks like we were both wrong. Corn, celery and lettuce are all not very good fiber sources. Here you go:

The best source of fiber around is Flax seed. Not only is it high in fiber but it also has omega 3 fatty acids which most people don't get near enough of. Flax seed has been proven to help with heart conditions, constipation, mental disorders, cancer, add, weight management, etc.......hell, you can even give this stuff to your woman and it is suppose to help prevent around 80% of her menstrual pains and aches.......
Besides flax any other kind of seed and grain for the most part is going to have a fair bit of fiber in it.
