  • Music and training

Do you guys ever find a certain type of music helps when training with weights and such? I tend to listen to heavy stuff and find that it usually makes me squeeze out a few more reps because I kinda latch onto the rythm..if you know what I mean.

for me, when i practice tai chi i listen(or prefer to ) to just music, no words, especially a musican by the name of yani. i love his music and it's very calming and is excellent for meditation. now when i practice kenpo, i would prefer to listen to "pump up" music. like dance or rock or something like "u can't beat me, im the best" somethign along those lines. and like u said it helps to get a few more techniques in b4 ur finished for the nite.

Eye of the tiger. Ha! Seriously though MAs are all about rythym and balance just like dancing.Agresive music i use for a work out to.I have trained my tai chi to music but i prefer not to.

actually eye of the tiger is possibly one of the best to consitently listen to while training no matter the ma....and besides...who wouldn't wanna listen to the song that fueled the rocky movies?
