  • motivation and energy

i live somewhere that is very cold and sometimes(alot) i feel like not working out or anything like that. now i think the trick is too build up momentum in your workout and after a while it comes to me as more of a routine and becomes easier to workout. but if i miss one workout day. i work out 5:30 in the morning and 9 and night. but if i miss that workout at night i don't feel like doing it again. like i have no energy at all and i just want to sleep. therefore i have developed a theory that motivation and energy are intertwined. for one they support each other. if someone is motivating you and pumping you up that will give you alot of energy. but if i feel energetic than i have the motivation to get my workout done.
but the thing is that this can be difficult in a cold climate not to mention how much sleep i get. because it depletes my energy. i get no motivation seeing how everyone of my friends and family don't believe in martial arts. really the only motivation i have is my own drive.
what do you guys think. you prolly think crazy but what the hell

were do you live? lol. You cant do anything without energy....thats kind of obviouse. One thing is good if your workout is incorporated with a sport or other group activity you do...i find going to a gym is much harder then going to practice.

i find that im not always motivated, but once i force myself to go all those feelings go away and i wonder why i ever thought of skipping. Another thing i noticed is that when you skip once you feel realy guilty, but as you continously skip it gets easy'er and easy'er until it actualy becomes realy hard to get back into it.

rutine is a good idea for "chore" type activities wich you wont always be motivated to do.

I know what you mean. I get home from work and all I wanna do is sleep. Then the next day, I am pissed at myself for not training hard enough. I don't know if there is a cure for this, but I know that once I get to class.......I am more energetic than I have been the entire day.
