Boxers Fracture

my fiance just fractured his finger in a street fight, and just got the cast put on yesterday, he is in extreme constant pain and i dont think the doctor gave him anything for it. Does ice or heat help it? Is there anything that you found helped the pain? And does the pain get better soon?

Ice only really help if you put it on straight away. I have a shatterd knuckle and have to have it operated on, 3 pins. Its swolen all the time and when I wake up its creaky and sore. fractures heal sounly, and get stronger, I wish I had a fracture now, rather than this. I cant use my right hand at all, the bones are in 3 peices. I mean I can move it around, I just can touch the knuckle on to anything. I was breaking tiles by the way, and they bounced. Has anyone else done this to their knuckle. Its a bummer caus I hurt it last year, and it stayed swolen, then when I hit stuff it lands first. I`l get pick, it just looks massive and the tenons are apart a bit. I regret it so muc.
