Well I am no expert on boxing here, but one tip I know is don't say do hardcore heavybag work for long periods everyday, cuz you may mess up your wrists. At least not as a beginner, anyway.

If you know how to punch it should not matter how long you hit the bag. I do around three rounds a day on the bag, usually two- four focus mitt rounds and some times I do more (thai pads). As long as you keep your wrists straight and hit with the first and second knuckle your wrists will be fine.

i dont think the system is different i think its just the words we use mean different things we go to a secondry school when we are about 11 and do our exams when we leave at about 16 years old then if we choose to we can go onto further education which would be college and then after college when we are about 18 we can go to universities im not sure how your system works or what means what but thats the best i can explain it
