Mako - BJJ is a great grappling art, but so is wrestling and judo. The reason why Gracies dominated in MMA events is because they had been fighting in MMA type fights longer than just about anyone else, including wrestlers, judoka and karateka.

Even BJJ can be beaten. Its been beaten by wrestling and other well-rounded fighters.

I kinda doubt it, jiu jitsu dates back as far as 2,000 years before christ.Ancient Crete boxing was dated no later then 1,500 BC

jujitsu was adapted during feudal japan which is about 400 years ago (17th century)..if boxing was adopted in ancient Greece 1500 b.c doesnt it make boxing about 3000 years older than traditional ju-jitsu? (not even bjj which came 300 more years later)

It's really impossible tell EXACTLY when jujitsu was created but it goes back farther then 400 years ago. Like I said some archeoligest have traced it back to 2000 years before Jesus

But there's no way it was created only 400 years ago the greeks were recorded using wrestling and jujitsu moves in the first olympic games ever recorded. Which dates back to around 500-700 BC

Well, boxing was around that time as well. And actually, boxing was regarded as the more dangerous out of the three olympic events (pankration, wrestling, and boxing). Competitors actually requested to have pankration and wrestling first so that they can be injury free when they box.

Also, just because the greeks used joint locks and chokeholds does not mean they're using jiujitsu.

ok mako first of all, get Rorion Gracies testicles out of your mouth. Just because HE says that it is an ancient martial art does not mean that it actually is. Also, bjj is not the only grappling art in existence either. Why don't you go to a judo/sambo/catch gym and see how quickly you get tapped?
