  • Hardest punchers in boxing past/present..

past... I would say forman. Now... Well it used to be tyson.. but since he can't seem to hit anyone these days...

I forget the guys name but an early boxer hit a guy with a punch to the forehead and the guy just dropped and shook. I'll have to see if I can remember the guys name. I'd say that must be one hell of a hit.

Rocky Marciano is probably the hardest puncher. I mean jeezus... that guy was a damn slugger. No one wanted to get tagged with one of his hits. And he took hits well too, he probably had one of the best chins around. If he was knocked down he was usually up on the 2nd or 3rd count. Most of his wins were by KO, if that doesn't speak for itself.

A few boxers addmitted they hit him as hard as they had ever hit anyone and he didn't even shake his head.

Joe Frazier would have to be amongst them, and pound for pound Azuma Nelson would be up there too

Well, unless every great heavyweight puncher's punch has been recorded, no one can really know who hit the hardest. However, if you base it on ko records, ability and performance then I'd probably have to say that a prime 88'-89' Tyson is as good as it's gotten. Although he was a small heavyweight at 215,220, he managed to generate a tremendous amount of power. His smaller frame gave him the type of athleticism that larger heavyweights lacked. He had the ability to use his whole body to create the type of punching leverage to generate the power that he did. The man was a complete power punching machine, a human piston.

                      1. Mike Tyson
                      2. George Foreman
                      3. Joe Louis

                      3.

Some good answers in this post.

What about Mickey Ward's body shot? The guy can deliver a killer shot to the body. Shots like those don't get the same attention as a KO punch tho.

I agree, they should. What about the time when Jones Jr. ko'd a dude with 1 body shot? It was a thing of beauty. Julio Cesar Chavez had devastating body shots. I heard he made both Taylor and Camacho piss pure blood for days!
