  • Need help in Chinese language

    Hello,

    This is my first time posting and need some help.

    In the Chinese martial arts, what is the word for "first strike."

    Does the word differ for each different type of Chinese martial atrs ?

    Thank you.

      In the older Northern Chinese:
      Di Yi Ta

      Di yi= first
      Ta = strike

        I thought first strike was "di yi Da" not di yi ta....sanda de da

          Di yi ta translates may translate directly into first hit but it doesn't sound right. In cantonese I believe it is "tchuet giek".
