rabbit punch
BBBB
sorry about that.
A rabbit punch is a strike to the back of the skull.
Not the same as a palm stike. However a palm strike to the back of the skull could easily knock someone out or cause serious damage.
Thanks for the PM

palms are a close attace but not as close are elbows. The main bonus of a palm is the pushing power and the stopping power, apart from that it's secondary attack changes to a grapple and any charging attack. Palms are best at it's defence, not attack really, palms make it easy to deflect and stop attacks and sends opponent back further than and fists. The science of the palm is that it disperses alot more energy evenly across the hand, reducing the attack easier and in attack the damage is dispersed in a larger area, causes less damage but a larger "push", much like a shot gun.

Striking with open hands allows the "CHI" to flow more naturally allowing you to focus more power. Also, palm strikes are great because you are able to deliver more snap in them thus producing more power.

Has anyone knocked out someone from this technique alone?
my intention is the "double action" like in a bullet...... i hit my opponent's solarplexus while he hit his own back against the hard wall......
Note:
since when you want to push the heavy cabinet.... you use your PALMS and not your FIST to push the heavy cabinet......

Also palm strikes are easier if you actually already have a hold of the person. This way you can pull them towards you with one hand while hitting them under the jaw or nose with a palm stike. You can get a lot more power behind rabbit punches than regular punches. I dont think anyone would doubt that a palm strike to the back of the skull would knock people out.
But to answer your question, I have never knocked someone out using this technique alone.

Originally posted by Thai BriPalm strikes can, indeed, deliver knockout. I have done so in an inter club "Shoot" competiton a few years ago.
The palm is not quite as hard a striking surface as the knuckles but, of course, is far harder than a gloved fist. It is true that you can injure your wrist when palm striking, as I have done it myself. But you can injurue your wrist, small hand bones, knuckles and skin when punching. All in all the rist with the palm is less than that with the fist.
But it is not true to say that the palm strike has to be "perfect". Far from it, there is a wide margin for error.
Good palm heels into the jaw can easily cause knockout, and hard "slaps" into the side of the face or behind the ear can also.
To each his own!

i dont really like palm strkes. people say they are better cause they reduce injury to ur hands, but its actually pretty easy to injure ur wrist using palm strikes. if the stike isnt perfect, u will bend ur hand backwards.
