That's one way to look at it, I guess.

Another way is to try and make the other guy miss and counter hard. Contact conditioning is allways good, though.

I prefer medicine ball ab drills, leg sparring and holding the pads for some pounding knee drills. They've helped keep me alive when I'm tired.

        That's for developing your palms.....

Make sure that your dominant hand doesn't get over developed and to clean up after using specialized oils.

i know lots of conditioning techniques, iron sand palm methods iron fist methods, horse stance strenthening, candle punching, iron neck, iron skull, 1-2 finger zen methods, wich parts of your body do you want to condition.

for your fists, nail a thick newspaper to a safe sturdy wall, and punch it repeatedly for an hour each time not to hard but try to breech your pain barriers every time you do it. also thrust your hands into a bucket of hard dried peas for an hour each time, do this with your fingertips, also get a medium sized sandbag, then hold out your index and middle finger on each hand and with a sweeping alternate switching motion repeatedly hit the bag, (wich should be grounded) 1000 times.

ile tell you about others if you ask me i know lots more wich ive been doing for years.

                peace

i just tried the newspaper thing... sadly with a fairly thick magasine... i did not make the hour. my knuckles hurt very quickly. any less severe methods? my hands arent used to the idea of hitting ppl at all yet. im really annoyed that to punch hard without injury i need gloves on and am trying to remedy that. any other suggestions would be welcome/ as for the dried peas... im not sure how that would help condition for punching... and i dont know where to buy so many peas...

ok well punch the newspaper softer, and when you stop for a break try again and again do this every day for atleast 30 mins if you cant do an hour, and i garantee results within 2 weeks, and the bean/pea thing strentherns your fingers wich are vulnerable in a fight, no not wear gloves while you train get your hands used to fighting bare knuckle,

and above all while you are training take care of your body dont be reckless, use control all the time, and be consistant if you want results.

oh and about the peas, buy them at any supermarket, get black eyed peas/beans, they last for years and dont go off or smell or brake or get weak, thrust your fist into it but while you repeatedly thrust both fists into the bucket dont take them out untill training is over, try to do it with dontrol never pull out of the bucket fast and then enter it quickly, it will be messy trust me. thrust your fist into the bottom of the bucket into the floor and crush the beans with your knuckles, when you have done this for 2 years, you can move onto metal balls and shards after that, to aquire iron sand palm/fist. among other methods ofcourse.

all those little details are sort of important if you dont want to damage your hands, Ive been practicing the same arts for for almost 40 years I also learned from Shaolin monks at the Shaolin Temple here in Florida under Gm Chan Pui. but then that was 15 years ago....
you should know hand conditioning without proper training and herbs can DESTROY your hands and feet...it is something that should never be undertaken without proper instruction...it also requires daily training the rest of your life to avoid arthritis, you might wanna mention that stuff before starting people down the path, good intentions sometimes have the worst results...
