    yeah boar i agree there are effects that come witht he training, but if it is done without recklesness and caution bieng aware of your own limits, you can do it without damaging your hands, but you have a valid point ofcourse, and you speak from more experience than i, i respect your experience of the arts, and could you maybe teach me a few things or too, and maybe i have other knowledge to offer you aswell, you never know.

      I'll just throw this out there: for all around conditioning, the book The Art of Expressing the Human Body is great. It lists and explains tons of stuff you can do with or without weights. It's based on Bruce Lee's various training methods, so yeah, it's very relevant to kung fu.
