there are always wc knockers here or kung fu/karate knockers or basically any art that hasn't got bjj or mt in the school name.

What a lot of people don't realise or even consider is that not everybody feels the need to train to hurt people. I've noticed on a few martial art sites that I go to that there is so much dick measuring, too much ego. Some people, myself included, train because it gets me off my lazy arse (although I love training & martial arts I am a lazy prick), I get to socialise with likeminded people, it makes me feel healthier, increases my energy and my enjoyment of life, makes me move flexible and gives me a greater sense of balance, its helped me to give up smoking and drinking (too much), and finally there are some really hot chicks where I train.

Now I'm hearing the rattling of all the brains of the MMA's guys out there saying what is the point of doing a martial art like kung fu when I could kick your arse because I do bjj. Well good on you mate, I'm content with the size of my cock and don't need to whip it out to try and best other martial artists. I have nothing to prove to anybody but myself and I am very happy with who I am - I'm very happy with what I am doing and I'm very happy with where I am going in life. I don't feel the need to step into the ring to hurt my hands on somebody else's face and/or get my face pounded in by somebody - because lets face it - I'm really, really, really, really good looking.

regardless of who you are and/or how bloody brilliant a martial artist you are, there is always somebody who could pound your arse.
    peace out
    greg

I'm not a MMA or BJJ practitioner, and I have no problem with someone training for the sake/enjoyment of it.

But I don't like people wanting it both ways - i.e. saying their art is deadly..... but, when called, then saying that it is more than merely fighting....

      Thats called denial.

Friday i was helping my friend bounce at a party, when i hear the money got stolen i run after the fool who stole it and knock it from him, 4 guys surround me all of them bigger than me I roundkick one dude in the face so he falls in the bushes hurting (WC role punch) another dude and kick a third one in the stomach so he bends over, at the same time deflecting all their punches with WING CHUN counters. One of them sneaks behind me and as i turn around to face him he gives me a black eye and stabbs me in the ass with a knife it goes 2 inches deep and i get 6 stitches he runs off but the other 3 limp away, i get the money back and am lucky to be alive, withought WC i would have been dead, and it worked for me in a real confrontation.

how much money was it? Was it your money? Seems that was pretty stupid. For about $80 (probably) you got stabbed in the ass and will have to pay hundreds of dollars in medical bills. I really hope your joking cause what you did was pretty stupid. Really, How did they get the money in the first place?

I wonder what the guy that kicked your ass studied

It wasw about 300 $ in a metal box we had on a table which some of my friend's friends were watching and so one of the people grabbed it and started running and i ran after him cause i had no idea what was happening i was just wanting to get the money back since i was bouncing. It wasnt my money the party was at my friend's house and he had the idea of charging people 10/person at entrance

                    Nice

                    Tameo,
You're right. There's alot of bad attitudes in the MA world. There is a WC school close to here which we used to fondly refer to as the "Cobra Kai's of Gung Fu". It was pretty hilarious, because of their Sifu's awful attitude they all thought they were the shit, and almost every one of them would go out at night picking fights to test their new technique of the day . For most part they all got their but kicked when it came down to it. I've been in too many confrontations to count, and have used WC in all but a few. It's always worked for me. WC nay sayers might have seen or heard of a WC guy trying to use their skills and getting whooped. The reasons they lost isn't because WC doesn't work, either they were not taught to apply it effectively, or they're just not a good fighter (some people just ARE'NT). You also mentioned kicking guy's in the face. I wasn't sure if you were a WC practitioner (cause WC kicks are from the waist down). I just assumed you had skills other than WC. I say if you got to walk away from a 4-5-6 on one fight. You did well, so good on you. Even if you walked away with an extra hole in your arse.

I try to train high kicks as well as low kicks, high kicks are not really safe, i know but why not kick him in the head if he is wide open and in kicking range? I was actually kind of surprised I pulled that off

If Cobra Kai's WC Boys are cocky, picking fights to hurt people, and they get their butts whipped, that's what they deserved. I've studied wing chun in my teenage years before going to college and taking boxing, judo, kendo, and now jujitsu. My only problem is with most wing chun schools is you're taught mostly techniques, and you never get any resistance training like boxers and wrestlers. Of couse, their are exercises in that style like lop sau, [don] chi sau, chi gerk, kune se kune, and training on the mook yan jong that help strengthen/condition your forearms, shoulders, thighs, and upper and lower back. However, the conditioning I receive from boxing far exceeds my wc drills, plus my punches are a lot more solid. I personally believe if wc schools were to start incorporating boxing methods with ground fighting, there would be some deadly strikers ready to compete in KOTC, UFC, PRIDE, and so on.
