Yep, but very few people can finish with a single strike while being grappled in this day and age! If people still conditioned like the people in the clips and they whacked you with a strike its going to stun you or worse and they'll toss you on your head. However people dont condition and many cant hit a moving target so this rule actually hurts the arts ability to evolve since people arent going to start all the conditioning you better allow grappling or you're keeping useless traditions alive for the name alone.

need I say it?

What makes 'the people' back then so much better than 'the people who like to grapple' now?

C'mon, you know the answer. Its because the 'back then' people aren't here (or are too old, far too dangerous, or too 'above it all') so any outrageous claim can be made to justify how some people today choose to spend their time and to what they choose to hitch their egos. The more that people fuse their own egos to tales of days of yore, the more desperately defensive they become and the further they drift from verifiable fact and rational thinking. You end up with phantoms, fables, transparently fabricated anecdotes, and pasty middle-aged dudes with embarrassing ponytails whacking coconuts and imagining their unstoppable killing powers!!!!!!!Originally posted by 7r14ngL3Ch0k3Now why is that? the average dojo darling is in crappy shape and expects miracles from a form...If however you are a fit hardworking individual who also grapples (shuaio chaio) and you did all the conditioning on the 5 clips (did you watch all 5?) then you would be pretty fit eh? They also do iron palm, you telling me the ability to split a coconut with your palm from 3 to 6 inches is useless to a grappler conditioned like those people?
And just for the record the "back then" refers to the 1970's and the people training under the Iron Butterfly on those clips.
And you disagree with me that stopping them from grappling after 3 seconds if no one has achieved a throw is silly?
Id love to see that rule in the UFC!!! If Royce had 3 seconds from his takedown ATTEMPT to achieve a TAKEDOWN or submission or get stood back up how many fights do you really think he would have won?

I see two idiots who know nothing about the art or the rules of it (or why the rules are that way) making idiots of themselves
Jubaji and trianlge want the rules of chinese fast wrestling to stay as they are now...which is this...you have three seconds from your first grab of the opponent to throw him to the floor or you are restarted to striking.
This rule is written this way because the kung fu masters who made the rules said after 3 seconds if you had not thrown them they would ironpalm slap you or pull a weapon since a three second grapple without a takedown meant you clearly were not in control of the him and he was free to hit you....(and surely end the fight LOL) so they break you apart...clearly thats flawed thinking, and exactly what I complained about...But the village idiot who acts like he knows it all disagrees....yes judumbass thats a reference to YOU.
Im really surprised to see jubaji spin 180 degrees and become a TMA advocate...more likely he just showed his ignorance of the CMA's...AGAIN in his attempts to mock me....
And he wonders why his time wastin dumbass is on ignore

Doing Shuaio Chaio or Chinese Wrestling is not the only thing that will make you superman fit. Doing Ironpalm just conditions your bones and muscles to be harder, it doesnt help your technique. Anyone can do Ironpalm, ive been punching newspaper hung up on a brick wall(j/k).Originally posted by BoarSpearIf however you are a fit hardworking individual who also grapples (shuaio chaio) and you did all the conditioning on the 5 clips (did you watch all 5?) then you would be pretty fit eh? Yeah, 3 seconds isnt nearly enough time to throw someone especially if they have the same(or less or more) skill as you. A no clinching after 3 seconds rule would not promote better striking(or grappling) in anyway. And you disagree with me that stopping them from grappling after 3 seconds if no one has achieved a throw is silly?

I said people dont train like that anymore...do you disagree? did you watch all 5 clips?
And you still say that you were right in rolling your eyes when I said the rule was holding back the arts development? or do you admit you followed the village idiot?

I watched all 5 clips and thats not only way you can train if you want to be fit as hell. Wrestlers and mma fighters train just as well and get the same benefits as these Chinese guys.
I dont know, im confused right now.And you still say that you were right in rolling your eyes when I said the rule was holding back the arts development? or do you admit you followed the village idiot?
But, knowing how to wrestle for longer than 3 seconds is more practical, period.
