    Oh then they were fresh!

I went out on a date in the Xia dynasty once. Been waiting for the phone call ever since...

The divination from the turtle shell confirmed what the fortune cookie told me.

I had a chance to stay in Hong Kong for a little bit back before the handover, but ended up going to Beijing instead.

Still like to try ol' HK one day.

Kung Fu the Series with David Carradine--Man when I was 12 or 14 I really studied those moves to a tee!!! LOL J/K

Seriously though, I think my first choice to visit the East would be Japan and not the congested Tokyo but the Moutains and historic areas. China would probably be 2nd with South Korea coming in at number 3 on the wish list of visit spots.

Good call! If you ever have a chance to visit Kyoto you'd love it! If natural beauty is your thing you can take some trips out of the urban areas in less time than you'd think. Everyone thinks of Japan as being so crowded, and the big cities are densly populated, but the country as a whole is something like 80% forest land.

China has 10 lifetimes worth of amazing things to see, and people there for the most part are very kind and welcoming. But for a long-term stay, life outside places like Beijing or Shanghai is pretty 'basic.' The time machine effect kicks in.

If you've got the cash you can have a mighty nice time in Seoul, so your #2 and #3 spots would depend on your goals I guess. Can't go wrong either way.

Being that this was the extent of what you were doing, no wonder you were cold.

It was a pretty chilly night. It had been raining the day before.

No, it was the shitty technique. That's why it was important for you to wait until the security cleared everyone out and miles away before you decided to bust out your Caine from Kung Fu Tai chi.

Tokyo's nuts, and I love it.

But the trip I took through the mountains across central Honshu was the most amazing experience I had in Japan.

I took the bullet train from Tokyo to Nagoya (I think. I was pretty hung-over at the time) and from there the slow train through the mountains to Hide-Takayama (In Gifu prefecture), then after a couple of days there, through to Kanazawa (Ishikawa prefecture) on the north coast of Honshu. We stayed in the old traditional quarter of the city, in a building that had been a tea-house (read: Geisha house) 100 years previously. From there to Kyoto, Nara, Himeji.

Jubaji, are you actively trying with this and your sushi thread to make me drop everthing and get my ass back to Japan??

Exactly. The Japan Tourism Board is paying me 100 yen for every gaijin I send over.
