... Here's a hint, "good" KF doesn't need to "look" like anything except a fight. A general rule is, if its "pretty" it doesn't work. Fighting applications aren't flashy, they're either rooted in the basic's done VERY well or you're buying your own bullshit. Without a proper root, NO "Martial art/Style" is functional. ...

How about we do this, lets leave the MMA part out of this, leave their forum, lets go to the CMA forum where this belongs, and discuss your ideas, concepts theories and favorite videos that you think show good KF.

BTW, since you're a KF guy, your shit talking belongs in the CMA forums, unless... you're just looking for confrontation, in which case, trust me, you can find PLENTY of that in the CMA forums.
Thought about moving the whole thread down here... still might?

    Hmmm

Interesting side note... I know the words "flower" and "fruit" by different names. I may have left that in the silat forum? Oh well.

    Press on.

    Might as well.

Yeah, the fruit/flower analogy came from some of the Silat interactions we have with the local crew.

      Gong fu against multiples

YouTube - Kung fu vs 3 people

This video footage comes from somewhere in Southern China, my guess Hong Kong since they are speaking Cantonese AND using traditional (rather than simplified) characters on the broadcast. Not sure if you can assume this is a southern style of gong-fu, since I don't know enough about them.

It seems to keep 3-4 individuals at bay something that we don't see from MMA style fighting, although it could happen.

          Gong fu vs Other styles

Shaolin gong fu vs. Korean TKD
YouTube - Very rare fight shaolin kung fu vs. Karate

Looks like the gong fu guy was restraining himself, showing the openings he could have taken (eyes, groin etc) but seems comfortable going toe to toe with the TKD blackbelt. He seems very relaxed, strikes quickly, comfortable footwork - but this is more of an exhibition match it seems.

Drunken Fist & Mantis fist vs. Kyokushin Karate
YouTube - Karate vs Kung Fu

The first two drunken fist guys get smacked around, but the mantis fighter seems to do okay.

          Gong fu vs. BJJ

The gong fu guy is Jason DeLucia - who eventually went on to become more successful in the UFC. This is the first time to fight Royce Gracie in BJJ - he shows that he is in good shape and attempts a few finishing holds probably from his qin na but has no where near the same mobility on the ground or escape strategy since Royce rides him most of the time and is able to hit him at will and eventually submit him.

          Random gong fu street fight

You have no idea what you're talking about. The guy in yellow is an officer of the special police, it's the last day to apply for passports to get out of Hong Kong before it reverts to the Chinese. The halfhearted attackers as you so flagrantly called them only sacrificed their hopes of getting out EVER and were hospitalized for their injuries. Now your assessment hardly makes since due to the fact that they sacrificed everything for a "halfhearted attack" nor do random slaps send people to the hospital. You simply didn't hear any WHAAAA, OOOOOOO or see him strike any funny poses so in your world there was no kung Fu. BTW, just because the (armed) attackers didn't have stupid hair cuts and silly slogans imprinted on their asses you decided their attacks were "very half hearted" your bias is showing what a jackass you are, again. And your "assessment" shows you have no business making comments in the CMA forums, unless showing your ignorance is your intent.

Speaking of comedy clips that were sent in emails all over the world: MMA Fighter knocks himself out on Body SlamVideo

And of course the Sak Vs Buttscoot Gracie

Kazushi Sakuraba Vs. Royler Gracie Pride 8 Video | MMA Root

MEGAUPLOAD - The leading online storage and file delivery service I provided two links because it seems this fight is always pulled down while all the others are left up, I guess it's just too embarrassing.

Speaking of embarrassing, it seems they've also pulled all the clips of Matt Lindland (Olympic silver medalist) knocking himself out while executing a slam on Niko Vitale. Yeah funny stuff, and VERY street effective I might add.

                One just did.

So you're another clown (or screename for the same one) who claims he studied "Kung Fu" for two whole years and is now an expert on it, well, I'm SO impressed with your knowledge base.

BTW, Ghost/Mike Wright/ Brewer/Jubarki/MattBla, I know the concept is alien to the likes of you but Uke/KOTF/and I are actually 3 separate people unlike you and your multiple screenames.

lol i am one person and not all the others.

anyway, i know it doesnt make me an expert in kung fu, but quite clearly what was going on there involved no skill at all.

quite frankly if you think that is any level of skill at all then you should change instructor.

Ghost you never start threads in the CMA forums and you never actual discuss CMA's.

The only time you come in here is when you see a new thread started and you want to disrupt it while other people are trying to have a discussion.

You might as well stop, you know only jubaji is allowed to get threads locked.

I've survived a number of types of attacks (edged weapon and multiple opponents) that clowns like you claim are impossible to survive. My instruction and understanding of the CMA's is just fine, my instructor has been called one of the 10 deadliest men in any style by an extremely well respected tactical trainer for the military and police. No question he knows how to fight, nor is there any question the Chinese Special police know how to fight, you on the other hand have consistently made stupid observations and suggestions based on your two years studying in a Mcdojo.

Oh I'm sure it was, by clowns like you who ate up everything posted on this forum by someone who was the laughing stock of the Miltary and combatives forums worldwide until his posts were removed.
