Guest repliedI will not give the name of my Choy Li Fut master in here especially to you and yes his lineage is strong and goes right back. His father was taught by one of the same masters who taught Doc Fai Wong. Surprised you with that one, didn't I, you have most likely attacked me in DL and I deliberately do not say everything. I know how to trap men like you and to expose you.Originally posted by ViolentByDesign View Post..
Who has a direct lineage connection to this Chan Heung you speak of?
Just because a person is Chinese, does not mean they know anything about Chinese martial arts. Look at you, you may only have a limited knowledge of Choy Li Fut and not much about other things.Originally posted by ViolentByDesign View PostI don't like white boys like you who try to act like they're hot shit and knows more about Chinese martial arts than the Chinese.
I seriously doubt that and I doubt your knowledge and skill as well. Why don't you post pictures in here or video of your techniques and tell us of your style and how long you have practiced it. You sound like ClfDevil in DL.Originally posted by ViolentByDesign View PostHell, you don't know much about martial arts at all. My 11 year old brother knows more about martial arts than you. It's really pathetic, that's all.
It takes hardly any effort to expose men like you. And I am not your darling, you sound a bit effeminate there.Originally posted by ViolentByDesign View PostTry harder next time darling.

No I wasn't referring to you Ben. More to TigerClaw/KFM. He keeps talking about these multiple masters he's studied with but has no proof.

Mockery - checkOriginally posted by TigerClaw View PostWell, you have just exposed yourself as a mocking, attacker and liar.
Attacks - check
Liar - not really, in fact I'm really, fucking, brutally honest.
Those 20 years have undoubtedly been filled with videotaped instructions, lots of Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying shooting for level 20 status. When you go out and "study," you go to a seminar here and there . . . . . you learn one or two things, add them to your little "homemade" style recipe . . . then you go back home and continue to sit your fat ass on the couch and eat more potato chips and drink soda. Sorry, you fail.I have been involved in martial arts from over 20 years ago, and I have had many instructors, and three masters have taught me. I even presently am learning from a Chinese master. I also have taught a master in the past.
I don't give a shit whether you're Christian or you worship dirt. It doesn't change the fact that your sentences are the equivalent of proverbial retardation. As far as my proverbs and moral aspect I am not a Buddhist, I am a Christian and all my understanding is backed up in this regard. And nothing I have said is retarded at all.
Who has a direct lineage connection to this Chan Heung you speak of?I have a great respect for my two Chinese masters. Of the three masters that have taught me, two of them are Chinese. One of them has a direct lineage connection to Chan Heung.

If you don't stop I hope someone bans you immediately.
Try harder next time darling.

Oh you silly white boy, you just have to do it over and over and over again, don't you? You're not fucking Chinese, you didn't learn from any "masters" because anyone with half a fucking brain will be able to tell you're just a moron with a habit of speaking proverbial retardation (literally).
You make Chinese martial arts and my country look pretty bad in general.
Go take some fucking Karate, or kickboxing, or American Kempo or something. There style of being gay and acting like ancient masters with heart exploding techniques might fit your empty skull a bit better.

It seems like everyone here is learning from a master. All I hear is my master this and my master that........I think there are some out rite liers on some of these forums. Its funny that nobodie's master has ever posted on this forum or any other forum that I know of. As far as I know I'm the only one that has had their teacher post on a forum (DL) and acknowledged that I was his student and had been for the past 18+ years. I'm also the only one that has offered phone numbers to my teachers unlike some people that have been called out on thier credentials. Just my thoughts on the matter.

Guest repliedFirst of all, I said, "some of my learning is also private learning..."Originally posted by Ben Grimm View PostLearning from other people is good, but you do realise that videos and books are best used for reference not for learning new martial skills.
But I strongly disagree with you in your statement. Instructional books or videos are not just for refference. Thats ridiculous. many Kung Fu masters and all through history have made instruction books. Alot of styles have such books and videos. And I am sure that you have sought to learn from books and videos as well in the past. I have even made booklets for some of my students to help them remember forms and techniques and they have learned from them as well.
There may be some people out there that have been secluded in a remote district and who only had such videos and books to learn by and they may even be better at their martial arts than some who have the teacher.
But, I am reffering to my own personal study. Besides my training under different masters inat different martial arts clubs and my private instruction by masters, I have learned from every other source imaginable. And I keep learning. When a person practices martial arts for a long time and have gone through different instructors and styles, they learn the foundations and how to execute techiques poperly and they can easily adapt slight stance changes and movement. So, If I go and read another master and he is showing a technique in a book or better yet he is personnaly showing all the details of the techniques in a video etc. I can easily learn from that as well. This may not be the same for a novice, or a person that has no foundation and who has not taught Kung Fu for many years. By the way some teachers who give instruction on videos are even more informative and descriptive than some actual masters out there.
But I am not saying that learning from other methods is as good as personal instruction. With personal instruction you can ask questions and find out many secrets and have the instructor correct your mistakes and practice two man techniques etc. etc.
But I still believe that video, and books are very helpful, especially if you are a teacher of martial arts with over 20 years.
If for example lets say there was a man in China that never taught anyone his family style of Kung Fu except a few close relatives and then he made a video instruction of it and defined all the techniques and applications and he did this with intense detail. Then he and all his relatives died in a explosion at a family get together, there would be no way of learning his Kung Fu other than his videos and books. A martial arts teacher who has the proper foundations can easily learn this. Easily. So, I have no problem with learning anyway you can. I have even learned some things from watching the actual Praying mantis, and at the time I already had martial arts experience so i was able to incorporate those techniques into actual fighting and they worked very well. So my perspective on learning is very open to whatever will work for you. But I would still always direct people to a real live teacher first.
But don't think for a second because I find this way helpful that I have only learned this way. I have told you about my many different Kung Fu clubs and training and learning the traditional way and traditional forms from masters of different styles.
And by the way I still have private instruction by other masters.
