Here is a way to send the opponent to the ground without grappling or grabbing at all.

It uses body mechanics and skeletal function, which is exactly what KF teaches.

      What is CMA? Chinese MA?

Anyway I was shown something similar when I was a kid but, with a simple shove type push. I grew up in a seaport that had an active fishing industry, lots of trawlerman, lots of ex Merchant Navy with a variety of old timers dirty street fighting tricks. Never thought of it before but I guess you could say the tips they gave me for playing rough with the kids at school were my first martial arts lessons.

      Thanks for posting the clip.

But how often is that going to work and against whom?

Like most if not all techniques it'd be very situational. Unlike some techniques it is at least fairly simple and therefore could be worked by someone without a lot of training. Trap foot, push off balance...seems straight forward enough.

As to the when, I imagine proactively. Before the fight has started with someone who is still posturing and generally being intimidating but at the same time arrogant, closing the gap on the assumption you're not going put up any kind of a fight. If you're a big dude, then you probably won't find yourself in this position.

I don't see it as high percentage, and if he doesn't fall down like a cardboard cutout you have just about given him your back (and wrist control if he's sharp enough to take it).

Actually I have been taught to use it after slipping inside someone's punching range. When you blast in and actually strike the hip it will make anyone fall down. especially if you strike with your shoulder as you move in. This works great against a straight punch or someone charging in on you.

You are striking the point where the hips pivot. A person will fall down if you stake down their root leg and cause their body to turn. Gravity and physics are behind it.

If the person attempts to plant their back foot to hold their balance they will just be shoved over backwards.

That's one of the key phrases that let you know someone is trying to sell you something, or has never really been in a scrap.

Another point about basic skeletal function is that it works the same on all "human beings".

No one can argue that people are built the same. The same bones and tendons connect in everyone. We all have the same skeletal structure.

Some people want to argue that, but also mind you submissions and chokes from other arts rely on the fact that people are put together the same way. To say that bending a guys arm backwards far enough it will snap. Everyone's arm will snap when bent far enough the wrong way. That move will work on everyone.

The same thing with your hips, if you strike a person on the hip hard enough they will have to move their leg back to regain balance or fall over.

I have never fought an Alien so it may not work on E.T.'s but it will work on all people, barring gross deformity on your opponents part.

Just add them to your ignore list, then we can discuss this and you won't even have to see the inane foolery and trolling.
