  • KOTF training

Got bored this Sunday and had some free time so I took some training footage from the past few weeks, and videoed some new stuff while the weather still permitted.

Little video conversion and bam it hits youtube.

They scrubbed my "Moby Dick" by Led Zep soundtrack though.

But gotta give you props for living a martial artist's lifestyle! Gambatte!
    Thanks.

The Indian clubs and the slosh pipe are strength training.

The hit pads and heavy bag teach range and for me at least are cardio and hand conditioning.

The dummy drills are teaching lines of attack for yourself and how to avoid your opponents.

The drill I'm doing with my wife is for attacking while defending, sort of a substitute for blocking than attacking, it rolls it into one flow.

    It's derived from the FMAs

I don't know much about CMA's either. The punch bag stuff looks similar to some of the drills I would do on such a bag, only I have different footwork....mostly MT but that's my background.

      Strength work is all good.

      Thanks for posting.

My views on the training methods are unimportant, what I do respect is anyone who steps forward and puts their art out there for everyone else to see. Thanks for posting.

Also cannot fault the choice of soundtrack.

          No prob.

The foot work I use on the bag is odd, because I'm used to throwing low line kicks with those punches and you'll F up the bag kicking it with shoes on.

Not sure about putting the pipe behind the head, that lift is pretty much a no no because it can lead to some very unfortunate effects due to body structure.

Why do you do your pad work so square to the pad though?
The hobuds a little static because my wife only gets to train with me 1 or 2 days a week so I have to dial it down for her.

Same thing with the pads, she isn't experienced enough to keep up and if I move to much she sometimes gets popped.

Today I think more than anything though I just wanted to wail on something.

I do tend to agree with excessive re the pipe behind the head. That exercise has pretty much been a no no amongst gym instructors and the like for a while now due to the potential for injury. At least that was what I was told when I did my degree.

However, I am not a preacher! It does look like an awkward exercise and you are no doubt using a number of muscles to stabilise it as well as lift it.

Again, thanks for posting. Maybe I'll get round to something similar one day, although I don't have the hair to match!

Props for putting this up here. A lot of people would never have the guts to place a video of themselves for fear of ridicule, mad props to you! All I can say is, sick workout jammies .

As for the whole pipe thing. You will be fine when you do the lifts behind your head as long as your keep your back straight. The only reason that fitness directors advise against doing lifts behind your back is because you'll have a tendency to bend your neck which in turn causes your back to arch, which is the true no-no. Keep your back straight and you should be set.
I love the atmosphere of your home, very martial.

Nothing to it 1bad65 using humor to hide fear and shame is a common tactic according to socialogists. it fits the cartoon character well.

The fact that I hit the bag 4x as long as it takes Fatty Eargrind to get gassed probably had him eating twinkies to feel better about hisself.
