professor david james of vee arnis jitsu has a great 3 tape knife series. he was just recently rated as 1 of the 11 best knife instructors by tactical knives magazine. you should definitely give them a try. unfortunately their website, where you can get more information on their tapes, is down for some reason. they said it should be back up pretty soon though.

i agree, videos should only be a supplement to your training. especially when you are dealing with knives. the moves can be very technical and dangerous if done wrong.

I typically shy away from the TRS videos with "Kill a bunch of Bad A$$ bikers" claims but there is a very good two tape set by Felix Valencia that is worth the money. The knife series is a Lameco and has some very good information. I think it is titles the Ultimate Knife system.
Another great set is the Ron Balicki series by Pointman
If you want to Specialize on a specific area go with James Keating at Comtech. His reverse Grip or Draw point series is very good.

Originally posted by HandtoHandNow others have already said this, but i will reiterate. Honestly go and do escrima for knife fighting training, and use the videos as a suppliment.
I've sparred in the class, and at home with friends. I just wanted something extra to suppliment my training while deployed. I'll be on ship going to who knows where for about 6 months if all goes well.
I'm not the type trying to achieve a 'black belt' or learn some super deadly secret art you always see advertised in Magazines. Trust me I know it takes time and effort to learn a MA. I've made a few post relating my experiences in Shorin Ryu Karate while stationed in Japan. Blood sweat and tears...
