  • DAMAG-INC Kali Combatives in Houston, TX

Hello everyone, Daniel Arola here to inform everyone that I will be moving back to the Houston area to enjoy the Holidays and more than likely, for good. After the Holiday Season blows over location and schedule of training will be announced. It looks like there are quite a few locations I am looking at and with Houston being the big city as it is, will take some time for me to make my final choice where I shall start first.
I am very happy to notice the rising interest in FMA throughout the Greater Houston area since I left Houston to move to NC. I hope all the FMA schools in Houston and throughout shall continue to grow and prosper.

    Stay tuned.....

    -D

    Daniel,
I'd definitely be interested in getting together for some training/instruction. I live right in your area, off Louetta close to 249.

I'm looking forward to meeting up with you soon after this weekend, Matt. As for this coming Sunday afternoon, I will be busy with a lesson. I would love to join in on the grappling sessions though. I'll give you a call.

I want to offer myself a personal challenge and see about training some new students to fight in the upcoming Houston Stick Fighting Association stickfighting meet scheduled for the 1st quarter of 2007 sometime either in February or March. The options do vary as per type of match from dagger duel, single stick, double stick, polearm, sword, padded armor or none, padded sticks and real sticks. So which one of you is game?

Doble baston vs longsword sparring match

Before the video of this match gets out, read all about it here first.

That cat that I fought is named Jason and is also on my myspace friends list. You will recognize his replies to the blog with his Johnny Cash profile photo and calling me "young" hahaha.

This was a great event since we had a person from FMA's versus a person from the European Martial Arts playing their respective arts. We hope to have more of these types of mixed matches in the future. Other practicioners of the European Martial Arts were invited, but didn't attend our first event.

On a side note, I advised Daniel that it would probably be a good idea to put his shoes on for this match since there was a heavy wooden weapon involved, but he calmly declined and fought with bare feet! Bahala Na!

so far, I got 3 of them that might be game when the day comes. So far, training with the padded dagger trainers is all they've done for now.

Let's also not forget to acknowledge [Swordsman]Jason's second shot at another FMA player that same day when he attempted to match Trace's double sticks....

That's right. I should have said "people." Trace definately wanted in on the action against the long sword. Jason was a good sport to spar with Trace and his double sticks. Another interesting match.

Let's try to get some video posted on our website.
