    Ahem. He lost........

BWAHAHAHA - Smith beat his arse so bad I thought he was going to die! Haw haw haw! For all his fancy wristy twists in his demo, when Big John said "Get it on" he hit the deck and had his head pounded like a basket ball. He was pathetic.

And Jennum? He got a by into that fook up called UFC3, and he beat some other no mark. What success did he have after that? Jack shit.

I really dont see how people in MMA tournaments say they are ninjitsu or ving tsun because they all end up borrowing techniques from each other

some just do it better than others

Hmmm, well, I seriously doubt ninja punched and kicked air in the old days either,I am sure they used bags, they weren't stupid. As for ninjitsu's combat effectiveness, I would think it was very effective for what it was made for.

As for training yes you can train for only a few years and expect to kick ass in MOST situations, as long as you train hard and condition yourself well. MOST people don't know jack shit, and those that do don't have too much conditioning. Very few martial artists out there can really truly handle themselves from what I've seen.

But yeah, from what I've seen and read about modern ninjutsu it is bull, just to get people in for $$$.

                Just my opinion:

Is the MMA that you practice a history lesson or is it applicable to today’s MA needs?

Is the MMA that you practice a true MA that has a martial doctrine or is it applicable to today’s mass marketing needs?

Ninjistu is a fantastic history lesson. Some of its martial applications may have practicality for today, but just like the majority of MA, they are a lesson in how a MA was in vogue in a particular time in history.

If you enjoy your art then do it.

                Life is just to short.

He used the little known "Get immediately knocked on my arse and have your head bounced on the floor like a fukkin coconut" style of Ninjitsu.

Stealth and climbing techniques utilized by the ninja were very successful for the time period. However, unless you are in some elite military unit, you usually don't need such skills as a martial artist. Some people do them for fun, like mountain climbing and also just stealth movement for fun, but in terms of needing them, you will only "need" them for the same thing the ninja used them for: infiltration and the likes.

I used to really believe in the modern ninjutsu too, but after reading about all this crap about how it "doesn't require physical strength" I lost all respect. Any art needs physical conditioning, and thus physical strength.

                              Modern ninjitsu =

Shotokan + watered down JJJ + mysticism = ninjitsu
