I quite like studiobuddy. He's obvioulsy a very nice young man who's hobbies include:-

        - impressing other teenagers by getting his arse kicked
        - weatring his mothers tampons and

Sorry that my little question stirred up quite a controversey. But I have to agree with ThaiBri sounds like bs to me.

If you're not into meditative techniques then yeah, it really is of no use for you so don't even bother playing around with them. But personally I enjoy them as I naturally have a short attention span and it helps me narrow my focus and really concentrate throughout the day if I meditate in the morning and at night. I still won't do some of those things though, just from the rudimentary knowledge of acupuncture I do have.

Please dont take this personal but really this finger knitting is aload of bollocks. Alot of this stuff is based on buddhist mudras, which allow you switch your state of mind once you associate a certain finger sign with a particular state of mind.

Pavlos dogs is a classic example, ring the bell and the dogs start salivating.

When I was 17 years old I bought a couple of Ashida Kim titles, think I gave them away to charity years ago including that deadly ninja death touch manual

I dont really think eastern medicine is crap, I think its in a different category that western medicine. I think the eastern medicine thinks like herbs and stuff are good if taken on a regular basis. They are good for promoting good and stable health, and can be useful in reducing symptoms of small things like colds. Western Medicine is like kimotherapy and all the things to use when things get real drastic. Im not saying either is limited to that(think western nutrition tables), they just excel in those areas.

What??? You mean after 20 years of drinking a broth made of dried scorpion and pine cone, I won't improve my chi?

Accupressure/accupuncture is one of the areas that are becoming legitimized by western medicine. Many prominent medical centers have funded research in that area.

I was a skeptic until I had some acupuncture done to me, and that's what got me interested in it. I don't agree with all the herb stuff, but I'm open-minded enough to try it if nothing else is working. Believe what you will, but there's far more to the world than just what was developed in one part of the world Anyways, all that medications isn't as great as you might think. When you have a fever or are puking or whatever, it's because there's toxins in your body that its trying to get rid of, and taking medications to fight it off end up leaving those toxins inside. I personally don't take any OTC medication and even most prescribed stuff I'm hesitant to use just for that fact.

As I said, I rarely take anything but if nothing else is working I may try some herbs, but I'm more interested in the acupuncture than the whole herbology aspect.

No doubt. If I get shot in the stomach with a 9mm, I'm not going to go to some small Chinese guy with coke-bottle glasses to shove needles into my flesh, I'm going to the ER to get a good surgeon to take it out. There are many things acupuncture can do, however, that the average doctor in the States would just prescribe medicine for. Eastern and Western medicine both have their merits but also their weaknesses.

                            Of course it does.

Short-temper dude talking about operating different kinds of semi-automatic weapons, picking on people, escalating to get them to "meat".....naah, way out of context....
