  • Bullet Dodging Kata

Ashida Kim in his book Iron Body Ninja mentions bullet dodgying kata.

What is this kata ? is it real ?. Can you really dodge bullets ? it sounds rather absurd.

He also mentions the legendary Monkey Ninja. Anyone heard of this ?

Those are just qigong breathing exercises, there's nothing in there about bullet dodging or a Monkey ninja or anything silly like that unless you can actually type the passage out for us. Please don't make yourself more of a retard than you are.

Yes, there is a such thing as bullet-doding katas, just watch that movie "Equilibrium" and it shows how to intricately place your body while fighting multiples to avoid bullets fired

On a somehwat related note...i.e. something that would make me look like a complete retard if I made it into a seperate thread...
I've seen dudes put out smokes on their tongue without any damage, but I was wondering what exactly the trick this is, besides the numb or dead ass taste buds (I could imagine the taste!). Is it just the saliva, like when relatively hairless dudes can cover their arms, fingers, or hands in 151 and torch the shit without too much risk of injury because their sweat creates a barrier between the actual flame and the skin. (I know this can be done...cuz I work at a restraunt and one of the guys there taught me how to do this...the guy was kind of a pyro)

dodging bullets is very real, I practice this at least once per week, it takes a long time to build up the speed though.

One way to build up speed is to go toa batting cage and turn it on super high. Make a firm horse stance and dodge them by leaning backwards and making hand movements like your swimming. Very effective to build the speed for dodging bullets. Or you could get your friend to shoot you with paintballs or beebees and practice with those.

well after a while the speed does come, like now what i do is train with a Magnum 357, a standard .38 and a Desert Storm .50, I have now built up enough speed to dodge the bullet (aimed at my centreline) and grab a spoonful of Ben & Jerrys chocolate ice cream between shots, this takes many years but at least the speed is there now.
the next phase of the training is putting on the Spiderman costume and using Sticky Kung Fu Feet with alphabets to scale walls.

Dodging bullets does not exist. No human would have the explosive speed to do that. What can be done though, is beating the shooter to the race. Watching the users breath does this. The breathing pattern of an attack will change slightly and this will be you cue to move.

I'd actually want to be more aware of that trigger finger if I were you

It all depends on distance. If the shooter is in your face and the gun is in your gut, good luck responding to the finger. I agree, in the perfect situation you would want to respond to the finger, with that said, if you want to stand a chance VS. a bullet you'll want to beat the shooter.

9 out of 10 when an attacker is ready to attack he will breath in. (Try it, you'll see) The "breath in" is also a cause of slowed reaction time (UNLESS you have trained combative breathing.) This is the moment that a deffender needs to respond to that gun.

I understand the topic is on dodging bullets, but dodging bullets really does not exist, but beating the shooter to the bang is how experts seem like superheros.

I could go on for hours just on the topic of breathing in combat but I think you get the just of it.
