I'm just a bit more realistic I'd suppose. Smaller caliber is entirely possible, but the bigger they get the more risk to you. If they want my wallet and they have a gun, it's theirs. Now if they're threatening a friend or a loved one, well, then its time to see if that shit works for real

You should be able to make whole trees explode with your palm strike, eh? That's good Kung-Fu! Your master should be proud...

Real Karate-Do? I know wood. I smell bullshido...

The board was dried white pine it was 2 inches thick x6 inches wide x12 inches long. It was supported by concrete blocks it was struck exact center (weakest point) with the tip of my index finger(which produces more force in a smaller area than a chop which makes for an easier break).

The martial arts definition of breaking ability as quoted by Hapkido Master James McMurray is, "The unnatural separation of an object into two or more pieces, caused by the impact of a technique that was developed through extensive training in the martial arts."... Master McMurray goes on to say, " A successful break is when the material to be broken is separated without traumatic damage to the weapon used."
. The ability to break material such as wood, stone and metal, plays a very important part in developing the complete martial artist. No matter what kind of martial arts the individual may choose as his or her discipline, whether it be Taekwondo, Karate, Kenpo, or what is commonly called Kung Fu, some form of applied breaking is a should be a requirement. Breaking employs “TOTAL MENTAL CONTROL” with attention given to the internal chi energy powers of courage, commitment and concentration. A person needs the courage to strike something harder than your own body; the commitment to follow through with your decision, and the concentration to focus all energy into a couple square inches.
