Cool! Daido Juku!
I've sparred under those rules using the SuperSafe helmets. The sparring is a rush because you can use just about any tool including elbows, knees and headbutts. Those helmets have a nasty tendency to fog up bigtime though... and you'd better make sure you train your cadriovascular system hard because it's hard to get fresh air in that thing. It can also cut off your range of vision as well.
Those supersafe helmets have to be ordered directly from japan and they cost about $150 US... and they will scrape up, given time so take good care of them.

In our class, we start off training the traditional way, you know, Kata and Waza, then after about two hours of that we go on to Randori. This is how we know what works and what doesn't. Randori is my favorite time during class, because I am a blue belt and everyone else is purple and up. So that way I get to test my techniques against more experienced practitioners. Very Fun!
