    Hikage,
To be honest I'm probably not going to read these as my book list is miles long (it really is ridiculous) but I really wanted to recommend John Eldridge's books if you haven't already read them. Wild at Heart for men and the one he co-authored with is wife, Captivating, for women. It is way more Christian than I usu. feel comfortable with but the truths in it are universal... and it helped me understand myself a lot better.

I hope you aren't a big fan of kicking. My left knee has never been the same

Man, I love kicks. They are a major part of my arsenal. I'm a big fan of Bill "Superfoot Wallace" The incredible one leg kicker. Need I say more? Think positive.

It really hasn't been the same unfortunately. I had a meniscectomy (sp?) about ten years ago and it still bothers me. I gave up MA for a short while, but I came back, did a little boxing and got my hands better. I can still kick, my technique is crappy above the waist though. I still train when I have the time

I'm passing on surgery for now. Just wearing a heavy brace and only doing Foot Jabs with the injured knee. I'm hoping for a natural healing through rest and time. Like you, I am sharpening and honing my hands and my good leg.

On the topic, it's unfortunate that this tends to be the trend in most schools. There seems to always be at least one "superninja" in every school who has to show how bad he is to the newbe. It's one of the reasons I haven't picked up any formal training again at another school. I got tired of having to decide whether to be an a**hole and smash these dudes into the ground or just allow the disrespect to continue.

I saw the kid who fu***k up my knee for the first time since April. It was saturday at a Tourney. He was shocked to see me in full uniform and even more shocked to see me actively participating in the seminars. I didn't speak at all, I just stared him down and he responded by walking away. I'm 49 and this kid is 18. LOL. I was suprised to see that he had not been promoted to Blue Belt. He is young and his shoulder is healed as is my knee. Shit happens!!!

he's 18. it was probably an accident, and if not...it was still probably something you shouldn't take too seriously...we young'uns don't really know wtf is going on most of the time.

Man, you are 49 and you are getting into staring contests with 18 year olds? That's a little embarrassing.

It's all about the reputation, nothing personal, just reputation. LOL

Update:: Knee is completely healed. (no surgery, just rest and exercise), I'm back at the dojo, saw the kid, shook hands with the kid and back to working on my Nidan.

                          Take care of it.

I find that the older I get the longer it takes to recover from an injury. I don't heal as fast as I used to.

Glad to read you are back on track to belting yourself...

Don't be surprised if ten years from now it starts aching again.

I'd be happy to make it to 60 and still be training. That's how old I'll be in ten years. Slightly off topic, we have one Sandon in our dojo who is 68 years old. That's how I wanna be. Carry me off the mat at age 90. LOL
