    Keep believing that.

Thats what we want you to believe.

Passive Guy, yes I am Ninja. Your comment about me selling books is strange. The books I sell are written by the greatest Modern Ninja's. Hatsumi, Stephen Hayes, Ashida Kim and others. If they see fit to spread knowledge of Ninjutsu then why shouldnt I capitalize on it? We believe that if people want to learn Ninjutsu then they should drink from the pure waters.

Shimora, I just think that there some things that you can't learn from a book: Ninjitsu, Jiu-jitsu, kung fu, and pretty much any other pure self-defence art. You will just injure yourself or someone else, better to learn from a instructor on these things. But I guess theres no harm in learning ABOUT the art.

Of course that is true. However a book or video tape can be an excellent supplement to training at a school. Many people in remote areas have no choice but to study from books and video's. Many modern MMA fighters taught themselves submissions from BJJ tapes and the like.

Everybody I have ever trained with in the Bujinkan has called themselves a ninja at one point or another. It's much like calling yourself a modern samurai, a warrior who follows a certain set of beliefs (i.e. Ninpo and Bushido in this example). I know a TKD/Hapkido practitioner who calls himself hwarang, and a friend of mine in the SCA calls himself a knight-errant as he follows the code of chivalry.

600 A.D. is the oldest known school related to the ninja arts.

But they only taught home-ec and small engine repair.

Chris Hunter/Ashida Kim is a terrible source to learn from, and SKH's earliest books are the ones to really dig into, his others stray from the true path. SKH wrote most of his books as a shodan (1st degree black belt) so I definitely wouldn't call him one of the greatest modern ninjas. And let's all not forget O'Sensei Takamatsu Toshitsugu now

No, they just believe in the old warrior traditions. Nothing wrong with following a set of beliefs that you feel comfortable following. Everybody has some sort of values that they represent, whether it's Bushido or Christianity, Hinduism or being an obnoxious troll

If your friends believe they are Samurai and such they had better be on drugs.
