    Hey Sean,

What happened to your boy Jason Rodriguez? His website no longer works. Have you been updating your instructors list? Cause it sounds like the guy went out of business because it seems that his website is no longer active. Unless he's updating his website or it's being hosting by a site that isn't active 24 hrs a day. Seeing that I live in the Bronx I wanted to check out his website to see if I may consider joining his school. Oh well, let me know if he's still actively teaching.

      Hey Sean,

People should simply give credit where credit is due.

Hey, just wondering, but how did u go about formulating that list?

i also notice that you don't have listed a Denis White, who instructs here in Newfoundland, Canada. the company name is Diversified Combat, and he has trained under Dan Insanto (sp?)

i was wondering if any of you have met him, heard of him or know anything about him, as i am looking to pursue JKD as my MA of choice and he is the only instructor in Newfoundland that i know of.

As for your ordeal with this company, i say you meet and fight to the death for its rights.

Hey Big Sean, thanks for letting us all know, this is of great help to me at the moment because I am now thinking of designing a JKD website myself, at least I can now get a nice list of JKD instructors online

Hi Big Sean. Sorry for my late response, but I just gotta ask a few questions.

Did you copyright your list? And if so, are you gonna file a lawsuit against them for violating your property rights?

Disclaimer: This is a list of Instructors in Jeet Kune Do. Since this list is Non-Political in nature, you will see instructors from many of the different "families" in Jeet Kune Do today. Some of the instructors on this list will not be found on any other list anywhere. If you are wondering how come somebody is not listed here, even if they are famous, the answer is easy, they never sent there name in. This list is not an endorsement of any kind from any Jeet Kune Do organization, instead, it is up for informational purposes only. Please write me at Straightlead@yahoo.com if you wish to be listed here.
If you have copyright protection, you should have a copyright warning in your disclaimer. That should ward off any potential thieves .

Sean doesn't need to register his copyright. Info on the web is considdered copyrighted the moment it is published. It doesn't matter whether or not he posts a copyright notice.

                Hi all..

                Hi all,

Thanks for the support. They changed the website so for now, I am leaving them alone.

Yes, I did persure legal advice, and I am sure I would not have had a problem winning. I have all of the original e-mails of people asking to me put on the list and I have statements for many of the people on the list that they did NOT send there names to Hargrave.

Anyway, the problem is solved for the moment.

Attn MODERATOR: Can you please "un-stick" this thread. Thanks bro.

                Sean Madigan

I live in Tulsa Oklahoma (where Hargrave's school is located) and was thinking about attending Hargraves school to learn Kempo Karate..... this really saddens me to learn that he has done this and don't know if i can attend his school now. i can't be taught by a man who soils his honor in this way it just wouldn't feel right. i am sorry this has happened to you and happy that i was able to hear of this before i attended his school for instruction.

Do any of you know of good instructors of arts such as Kempo and Ju jitsu in Tulsa other than Hargrave (We have a lot of McDojo's here)

First off, Sean you should have done a copyright on your work though technically if you can prove you did it, that technically copyrights it. Technically.

Second, no JKD instructors in Colorado? No surprise I guess. I know there's a few, but then I'm far from impressed.

Because of where I live I have to stay in the Denver area for a few days at a stretch. I know I tried contacting some of Dan Inosanto's instructors there, but it seems like they're too busy or too special. Especially the later since they won't even return calls. I don't drive 120+ miles one way just to give money away.

If I could get Dan as my instructor I'd be ecstatic. But alas he is in California.

I appreciate the origins of this thread are about 7 years old, but just to be clear on something:

Sean Madigan simply compiled a list of instructor names and information and published this on a website. This is something that anyone is free to do and subsequently anyone is free to copy. You cannot copyright generic information that you merely compiled because you do not own this information, therefore there is no intellectual property to copyright. He could have written a copyright statement on his website as a deterent, but its not something he could have ever legally enforced.

ck5 - I would strongly imagine that the instructors under Guro Inosanto are just very busy training and teaching. I would suggest that bitching about them on an internet forum is not a great start to a training relationship, so maybe don't hold your breath for that call back.

I cannot vouch for your personal issue with them, but from what I understand, their head man is a kenpo GM
who learned his jkd from..... Gary Dill. Take it for what it's worth.
