    I think the training methods, not the art has dictated the success of MT over JKD. Most JKD schools do not do enough alive sparring. MT trains against resistive opponents and develops skills that translate well to Vale Tudo/NHB. I think a JKD man trained in an alive setting (Rory Singer, Forrest Griffin, Erik Paulson) can do very well in NHB.

      Mt has not been put into jkd lately because it is not the peoples duty who run the schools to change jkd it is up to you (the people trainging under jkd) to change or add moves into the art to make it your own

          I started training in JKD for a very simple reason. It incorporates stand up skills with ground skills. At least we do at my school. I like the total package, free flowing style. Im allowed to experiment and discuss "what if" situations. What other style trains you in stand up/ground skills with submissions? I would like to know.
